    My iron will not open.

  • Anonymous Mar 23, 2014

The iron has a small yellow 2 partb button behind the large yellow tank fill knob. Why does it have a "tab" or switch within the button? What does it do besides spray steam?

What does the small yellow button with the slot do on the handle?

Turn the big yellow top, if it's air tight use a plier and gently turn it. That will the trick.
WARNING!!! Becareful not to over fill the water reservoir by doing so the water boils making it leak. It is extremely dangerously as I steam burned my hand. Other than that u won't have a problem.

In order, to add water to your steam iron without getting messy, just tilt the steam iron slightly and find the right tilt where the water goes in. Actually, this tilt is needed so that the air inside the water tank can escape. Once you tilt, and give the air a passage to escape, the water should flow in really quick

I have a Bosch steam iron TDS25, and the handle of the iron is getting red hot and water is coming out of the back of the iron. Help!!

Steam irons become clogged from water deposits. You may clean your iron with white vinegar and water. You should use distilled water. Make a Mixture of 1/2 water and 1/2 vinegar, and pour the mixture into the iron as you would when you fill the iron with water. Turn the iron on 'steam' and let the mixture run through. You may need to do this a few times, depending on how clogged the iron is. After cleaning use distilled water to fill the iron, becuase distilled water leaves minimul deposits behind.

No steam coming out of iron, does it need descaling and if so how do you do it? Thanks Iron is Wahl zx506-1

Hi, Brown water and whitescale are often the result of the water you use in the iron... If you have scale, white vinegar will clean that... For brown water, empty the iron, rinse out the insides with bottled water, and then use the bottled water instead...

My iron is squirting out brown gunk from the steam holes under the iron itself. i have cleaned and rinsed it out. the manual says it is a gc 7430, gc7420.

Sometimes using vinegar and water will clean out your steam iron - but smells really bad. Usually the brown gunk is a sign that there is corrosion so even if the vinergar works, you should plan on buying a new iron in the near future.

I HAVE A ROWENTA STEAM GENERATOR IRON AND IT IS ALWAYS SPITTING OUT WATER WHICH STAINS MY FABRIC. i AM A QUILTER AND USE THE IRON ALOT.

Drain the water if don't need steam function, that's the best thing you need to do. Some iron when there is water like the one you use, when if its full on water really split out water, keep water in minimum or drain all of it.
I hope my advise help you.

I have a polti steam iron 600 do i have to use distiilled water or will tap water be ok thanks

Steam irons are built to run on tap water, there will not be any problems whatsoever unless the water is hard, which may leave sediments inside the iron after evaporation.

I have a steam station Iron, it stopped sending the steam from the base into the iron through the cord .Also it has debris in the base when i empty the water Do you know the problem & can you offer...

This can be checked by you as there is not much of mechanics . Make sure that the steam is generated in good quantity so that the cord gets full pressure, if not clean the base perfectly so that there is good contact -- no debris .. make sure with a air pressure or water jet the connection tube is clean and not damaged at any points, if so the steam will not flow .
Once this is established you will get good steam pressure or else the connection tubing cord needs a change. Also make sure there are no issues in the iron to block off steam.
