My phone says check Tel Line

Sounds like your telephone line might be dead. If you have a gray or tan telephone box on the outside of your house you can plug your phone in there to test the line. If you get dialtone then thrers a problem in your house wiring, if you don't get dial tone then the line is dead and you need to conact your telco provider.

My home phone is dead when I pick it up and when I call in to it is busy? It lasted several hours then came back, now it is dead again. I disconnected all of the phones in the house and checked all of the...

Find where you line comes into the house. hook the phone up there if there is still a problem its not your phone or system. Call your phone company they have a problem in their line. If the phone does work OK then you will have to start isolating your extension jacks to find which one is shorted.

DTU16D-2 Multiline issues

You need to enter program mode. go into MB 4-12 for your port number and remove line keys 3 and 4 from your phone. You should also remove the 2 dead lines from the trunk group so no one can access them. 3-03.

Phone is dead! M7310

There is no power cord required for an M7310 set. The set gets all the power from the Nortel telephone system. Try plugging in your phone where another phone is active to ensure that your phone that you want to install is working. The phone flashes, then stops, then flashes, then stops... you just have to be patient when testing. Possible Troubles: -> It maybe the line cord, the cord that plugs in from the wall to the phone that can be damaged. -> the jack might be dead (wiring in the jack is pulled off) or inactive (there is no jumper from the office to the telephone system). -> the phone port from the telephone system might be dead.

One line doesn't work at all

Line a line is dead? At the system you will see a port labeled line 1 and a port labeled line 2. swap them. That will prove if the line is dead or if the port of the system is dead.
