Helo sir

  • Check the temperature setting
  • Make certain there is a three inch space outside of the refrigerator between the walls and the back and sides and at least a one inch gap above, to allow for air flow
  • Clean the condensor coils
  • Unplug the refrigerator, wait two hours and plug it in. If you hear it running, a problem is causing the compressor to overheat
  • Test the temperature control
  • Test the evaporator fan
  • Test the defrost timer
  • Test the compressor relay
  • Test the overload protector
  • Test the compressor motor
  • thank u

      • Make sure the refrigerator is plugged into a grounded 3 prong outlet.
      • Check the outlet. Does anything work using that outlet?
      • Check that the circuit breaker is not tripped.
      • Interior lights on some models will turn off if the door is left open for more than 10 minutes. Close and re-open the door to make sure the light comes back on.

If the refrigerator compartment light does come on, but the refrigerator is not cooling, make sure the Cooling control is turned on.

Given the refrigerator is equipped with a Cooling On/Off feature, there will be a Cooling On/Off button located on the control panel at the top of the refrigerator compartment or the feature can be turned on using the Lock and Fast Ice/Cool buttons on the dispenser panel on the freezer door.

Cooling On/Off button on control panel in refrigerator compartment:

Cooling On/Off feature on dispenser panel on freezer door:

If Cooling is off, press and hold the "On/Off" button on the controls in the refrigerator compartment for 3 seconds or press and hold the Lock and Fast Ice/Cool buttons on the dispenser panel at the same time for 3 seconds.

Whirpool wgi fridge freezer, fridge not cooling?

Most frideges get all their cooling from the freezer. There will be a fan and duct in the back of the freezer that pushes cold air down into the fridge. If the duct is blocked with ice or the fan motor has quit. Your freezer will work fine but the fridge will barely cool at all. Check that the fan runs when the compressor is running, ( turn both temp knobs to the highest cooling and leave door open until comp. comes on). If the fan runs your duct is plugged. If not you need a new " Freezer Fan Motor". Most are simple to replace and cost around $100.00.

It's likely the start device on the compressor. If you hear clicking sound every few minutes - that's likely it. Turn off the fridge, remove the start device from the compressor and shake it - if small pieces looking like sand start falling out, replace the start device. Part number is on the device itself.

    Whirlpool Refrigerator - Model# ED22LF

Tom, I would start with the overload and relay that is on the compressor, If it is white it's a good possibility that it has failed. The fact that both sides are not cooling leaves me to believe the compressor is not operating. Take the overload and relay off. If they are both contained in a white cover shake it. If it rattles, I believe that is your problem. Let me know what you find...Catriver.

Is that everything in your freezer or just in the fridge. Is this a frostfree model. Often if defrost fails in a frost free model then it is unable to duct cold air to the refrigerator side of things. To fix- turn it off for a day or two.
