If the yellow area edges are sharp then the blue LCD is faulty and need to be replaced.
If the yellow area edges are not sharp and you get the multi color background in you image the your need service. due to dust on LCD panals the light is not pass on properly so you open the projector and clean the LCD block.
(cleaning of LCD block and other parts of the projector is a very technical job please very very carefully)
Sounds like Calibration is needed on the projection internals. Your TV uses a rear-projection system and the problem is either in the imaging LCD Unit or the light filter. I see in a previous thread you have changed the bulb. You can invest in a voltage regulator to keep the hardware in factory condition.
Also you can burn a DVD of a stuck pixel remedy video and run it on the screen with full brightness and full contrast. This is used for plasma burns and stuck pixels on conventional Flat panel TVs but can repair color issues with projection systems. This therapy is focused on the imaging unit between the projector and the main drop of your tv.

Try an oil change. Theres coolant in the bulbs that can be replaced. I did this and it helped dramatically. If your gonna do the green, do the blue also, red rarely needs to be changed. goto www.tvrepairkits.com and search your model number.
bad convergence would cause show to look as if it was supposed to be a 3-d movie, if a bulb was going out then people would look purple blue -green,or some other off color, so likely the green bulb is going out from the color of the people you described.
I have a similar issue with yellow pattern on the left and top right of my screen. Took it apart and found the blue lcd had damage that matched the yellow area that was projected. I thought it was the lens but it was the blue lcd .It has gone bad and no replacement. Are you interested in selling the bulb or the whole projector? I have since purchased another projector and am keeping the bad one for spare parts. Hope this helps..Ben [email protected]..
