Try adding one ram stick upgrade at a time, while leaving one original in the system till it boots and recognises the increase. repeat until finished adding all the new ram. if these measures dont work, its possible you have purchased ram that is not matching to the upgradable standards of your board. its important when adding ram to insure you match the ram speed with your replacements upgrade.
i took it to a shop and he tried all that thats y im really confused
unfortunately hp/compaq has what is known as a tattooed bios. in case more to the newer models, it doesnt allow upgrades. they want you to send their product to them , taking the possibility of fair priced upgrades and system improvements out of the hands of the owners and pc service shops. this puts more money in their pockets and forces you to buy a new pc or spend your money with them. if you do any research at all on hp/compaq, you will see there are millions who are extremely upset with them. their support and customer service issues are endless. i am from rushville indiana , and if you are anywhere close , you are more than welcome to bring your system to me. if i cant fix it for you, i will not chatge you one single penny for my attempts. you can reach me at [email protected] for further details.
