I have had the 6 cup moka express for 3 years. all of a sudden it is only producing one cup and brews for almost 30 minutes. it seems as if the water is not able to come up to he top, however i've cleaned it several times and there are no blocks, and replaced the gasket. can you help? thank you. renee'

-   I just replaced the gasket and filter disc in my 6 cup bialett moka pot and am experiencing the same results, with or without using coffee. The gasket doesn't seem to be a perfect fit and some pressure is lost out the sides. -   tvrana

-   It's the same problem. New gasket, new filter disc, basket appears to be draining water through properly but just doesn't get going the way it should and always has. End up with one cup of very dark, burnt coffee from a 12 cup maker. Have the basket soaking in vinegar, going to pressure wash it later, has to be the basket somehow. This isn't rocket science. There are only three parts, pressure valve is fine. So what else could it be?

I've finally discovered the solution to this problem. When the water is boiling and you can hear it trying to come up thru the coffee maker, pick up the Bialetti Coffee maker about 3 inches and just hit it back down onto the burner of the stove. You don't have to go crazy here.
Before you start making coffee just make sure the strainer is clean where the gasket attaches as you might want to blow through it and all parts are dry before you put coffee into that little metal cup.
It's the gasket!!!!! Store the pot with the two parts screwed TIGHTLY
together for about a week. Tighten it up as the new gasket compresses.
Problem solved in two weeks or less. Also cook on medium to low heat. High flame seems to make the
problem worse.
I have just had exactly the same problem - bought a new set of rubber gaskets and the metal filter discs but it still didn't work, three new rubber gaskets all gave the same problem.
But... then I thought about the one other replaceable part: the funnel cup. These are available to replace too and aren't expensive [less than 2 UK pounds from Amazon, that's about 3 US$].
And it worked! so, moral of the story is when you replace the gasket, replace the funnel cup too as it does get knocked out of shape over time.

Have you changed the way you grind the coffee? If the coffee is ground too finely, and packed in, it will block the pot. Usually you can tell it's blocked because the pressure relief starts to spout steam.

How long does it take for the water to reach the top of the tank? Also, the sales clerk sold me some number 1 filters. I wasn't sure if I where to put them or if she sold me something that I didn't need for the Biolette Mocha Express.

When I first got my Bialetti Mukka, it would leak from the sides. Online, I found the fix of soaking the O-ring in hot water before using. I was using Peets ground coffee and it worked fine for months.
Now, I switched coffees (one fine grind Nero, one medium ground Fresh n Easy), and water comes out clear. However, if I turn it off for a while when water first steams through, then turn it back on, it comes out with coffee. Anyone have this problem or know a fix? I've tried tampering with temperature, high, low, still same problem.
Thanks!

The pressure valve on my Bialetti 6-cup Moka espresso coffee maker blew out after 1 month. I have had another unit for nearly 30 years (it still uses the same replacement gasket and basket as the new one), and the pressure valve is still intact on that one. I did not subject the new unit to more heat than the older one. 1) Can I re-set the valve (there were no instructions in the box) 2) If not, where can I get a replacement valve. 3) Why do you think the pressure valve blew out when the older one has never blown out?

When I add water to the bottom (top of the filter) I can not get water to drop down into the chamber and can not make coffee. It looks clean. What is the little valve on the side for?
