I have a receiver from Denon AVR-3806 with most updated firmware that was available. For some reason HD output to the screen, regardless of which of the 2 inputs I use ( input from digital set top box or media extreamer) comes out stained with enormouse Blue like big stains / shadows over the figures. Using componnet connectivity will give excellent HD result but I prefer using the HDMI connectivity. Any idea ?

You may use the HDMI connection for as long as the big stains does not exist. External factors should be considered when the firmware is updated. One is that if your neighbor has experienced this blue big stains, the other is that if the setup was properly configured. Any of those will result to stains like that....

Make sure the control feature is disabled on both units so that they are not trying to send control signals to each other.

Secondly make sure your input is configured to hdmi for both audio and video within the receivers on screen menu The receiver usually auto senses the digital audio signal but doesn't automaticly know that it should use hdmi for video.

Denon AVR-3806 keeps losing video signal. The audio signal is still good. What could be the problem?

If your using HDMI, pull it from the receiver and run directly to the TV, then run optical or digital coaxial to your receiver. It's referred to in the industry as a "Handshake" issue. It has to do with firmware and hardware of your receiver and continuous ridiculous updates from the recording industry to protect copyright. Hope this helps. If you still have issues, post a comment and I will help you troubleshoot further.

My Denon AVR 3806 keeps turning itself off, why?

Your receiver has short circuit somewhere. The protection circuit shut off the unit to prevent more damage. You can try to disconnect all speakers. If there is not improvement, you need to send your receiver to repair.
