The switch for the door may not have good contact,

Open front door locate a small hole and look for a switch insert a small piece of paper and push down, does it turn on? if yes you need to adjust that switch

If no, then try the back door for the same operation.

The message indicates that the printer door or the cover located on the top is not closed properly, so you need to re-open the door or the printer cover and close it accurately.

Printer quit printing. Screen says fuser cover is open. Where is it located so I can close it?

Your problem: paper is jammed in the back of the printer around/in the fuser.

The Users Manual for your printer is located at:
http://www.brother-usa.com/ModelDocuments/Consumer/Users Manual/UM_DCP_7030_7040_EN_1510.PDF

You'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader (free from www.adobe.com) to view it.
LOCATION:The fuser cover is located in the back - its covered by the panel in the back called
the "back cover" aka "back output tray cover".
2-step fix:
(A) open the back cover - on the back of the printer.
HOW: it flips down
(B) open the fuser cover and remove paper jam
How: Pull the 2 tabs (one left and one right) toward you to open the fuser cover.
(it also flips down to open).
Most of this fix comes from downloading the Users Manual and blowing up page 60 (of 108 pages).

My Printer is Laser, Cannon LBP3000, while printing paper jammed into the roller, computer gave instruction that "open the top cover of the printer and remove the paper by pulling". But after...

This error message is displayed by the printer when paper is jammed in one or more locations. In such a case, users are recommended to remove the jammed paper from the specified location. The entire paper path must be checked for any pieces of paper. To stop the message, open and close the top most cover of the printer. Lastly, verify the flags and the sensors. If the problem persists, the cause of the error message could be a broken sensor or sensor lever.

Back Cover Open. Close the back Cover. That is

Hi there,

Do the following steps to resolve the problem -

1. Open the back cover

2. Pull the flap down that hides the orange roller on the fuser
(Careful it's Hot on that fuser!!)

3. Locate the thin piece of plastic that runs from the centre to the right hand side. This bar is the problem

4.  3/4 along the right hand side, there is a sticky out bit on this bar that should sit in a hole.

Once you located it properly, the 'door open' error went away.

Good Luck!!
Thanks

When printer turned on error Dueplex cover

The duplex unit is located on the right side of the copier (facing the copier) The first cover you open (the side door that hinges down) is the duplex unit.
Make sure it is closing properly and fitting tight against the main body.
The open close sensor for the ADU is located at the rear top side of the door. Their is a round hole with a metal plate behind it - this is the actuator for the sensor behind the plate.
To test it, open the door (leave copier on) and press the metal actuator in with your finger - the copier should come to the ready.
When you close the ADU look to see where the actuator/hole meets up with the main body of the copier - there should be a "boss" sticking out from the cover - this is what pushes the actuator to say the door is closed (is it there?)
You could also remove the small plastic cover on the ADU that is cover the side where the sensor/actuator is located. Make sure the sensor is still in place and connected.
You could also try unpluging and repluging the main connector that conects the ADU to the copier (make sure copier is off)
