My dish network receiver vip 612 push to open door won't stay closed?

Hi there Rick, my name is Kimberly and I form part of the Social Media Department with DISH. It is my pleasure to help you. A VIP 612 is a single receiver, meaning it can only control one tv independently, if you do have a second Tv connected it is mirrored correct? (meaning it watches/shares the same programming as the main TV connected directly to the receiver) If so, the TV connected with RG6 cable must be on channel 3 in order to receive a picture. I do hope this has been resolved by now, but if not I would be happy to provide assistance. The receiver may need to be replaced if it's not powering on. To help verify where the problem is, make sure the receiver is plugged directly into the wall outlet. If it already is, then if possible try another outlet.

You should be able to just press the door closed with it staying closed. If the door won't stay closed when you try to close it, then the latch mechanism may be defective. There's nothing for you to worry about with the door not staying closed. I hope this helps. If you have any other issues, please respond to this site.

Hello! The guide might be set to only HD. You will find this out by going into the guide. At the top Left of your guide, you will see that it says left to the right of the DISH Network logo. If it says ALL HD, then just press the GUIDE button again, until the list says ALL CHAN or ALL SUB. This way, you can view not only HD channels, but SD channels as well! Hope this helps!!!!

I've just experienced the same thing with a new Pioneer VSX-820-K receiver

It sounds like either on the 612 or the Yamaha Receiver that the HDMI port is faulty, thus causing the flashing picture. It sounds like the 612 to the TV works fine. I would recommend replacing the Yamaha, and if problem persists then try replacing the 612.
