It is usually a good idea to buy the installation kit, mainly for the wiring harness, but sometimes extra mounts are required during installation that are included in the installation kit. It is possible to install a stereo without the kit, but I highly recommend the kit.

How to remove sterio from 2001 eclipse?

If you don't even know how to spell STEREO, I'd recommend taking it to a stereo installer who has a little more knowledge.

It's VERY easy to break the plastic bezel or do damage to the mounting in that vehicle, and you will need a retrofit kit to install any aftermarket system. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND TAKING THAT VEHICLE TO AN INSTALLER. (Watch them work on the vehicle so you'll know for next time!)

did you bypass the amp thats mostly located in the trunk on the right side behind the cover. Either its there or under the rear speaker deck. You have to bypass that amp before the speakers will work and there is a kit for that too.

Replace factory radio on 2002 yukon xl

all you gotta do is carfully pry the dash panel off (prying from the far left end is easiest) completely remove panel. then there are 2 clips that hold the factory sterio in place. push on the both clips while pulling the radio out. simply disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the radio. using an adapter avaliable at your local radio shop (scosche p/n gm02, mdarb and gm1483b) wiring harness, dash install kit, and antenna adapter. then simply match the colors on the new radio's harness to the adapter harness, crimping each connection with a "but plug". then simply follow the instructions included with the dash install kit to assemble the kit.connect the antenna adapter to radio, plug in all cables. test to see if everything works properly before the final install. install sterio into dash install kit, re installing kit where origional radio was. then simply put the panel back in its place by firmly pushing on it untill it snaps into place. then enjoy your new radio!
