I have bought Nokia E63 mobile. I have saved all the contacts from my sim card to my mobile, but while receiving the incoming calls the names are not displayed in the mobile and only the mobile numbers are...

The problem here would be duplicate contacts. When a call comes it searches the number in the Phone and SIM and displays the name pointing to that. Here in your case I suppose the same contact with the same number would be entered twice ( SIM + Phone) and phone gets confused which name to display and it shows just the number instead of name.
To solve this what you can try is to disable the SIM contacts from displaying. To do that go to Menu>Contacts>Options>Settings>Contacts> Contacts to display - Select Phone Memory only.
Hope this helps. Good Luck. ~SmokinJoe~

I am using a Nokia C5-00 phone that I got yesterday. Seems like it has the latest software version. But for some reason, it doesnt display the contact name during an incoming call or while listing missed...

This is a very common issue with nokia phones. It occurs mainly when you have stored a particular number with more than one name.
For example if you have a number stored to your sim using one name and you have it stored to your phone memory with another name. In most cases, when you install a new SIM card to a nokia phone, it might copy the contacts from the SIM memory to the phone memory automatically and add some extra information or edit the name automatically. This can cause a conflict between which name the phone should display when any action associated with the number is to be performed. In this case, it displays just the number.
To solve this problem without having to delete any contact, all you need to do is to go to your contact settings and then select which memory should be the default display memory.
Hope this helps you? Please comment for more information and thank you for using FixYa.

Numbers not names

Hi

Just check in the phone book whether the number saved in the phone book or sim card or momory card are saved twice with 2 different or same name. if it is saved with 2 different name/same name. nokia phone gets confused which name to be displayed and he flash only the mobile number and not the name.

E6£ contacts updated to BMW iDrive, but won't display names/numbers in top 10, recent calls, appart from Voice Mail 121

E63 by the way.

Changed stored numbers from +44 format to 0044 format and removed all spaces in number. iDrive now displays names and numbers in recent calls, tgop 10 etc. A-Z in iDrive was never a problem.

Not entirely happy as +44 format is 'recommended', but can not see any consequential problems as a result. Numbers/names are displayed on phone in either format. Nokia 6230i displayed numbers in iDrive with either strored number format. Is the problem Nokia or BMW related?

Caller name will not display when they call. there names are in my contact list

Hi,

This is why your caller's name won't display when they call in. You basically have the names stored twice in your phone, one on your memory stick and the other on your phone. For you to sure of this; get a number and store it on the sim and store it the second time on the phone. Call in and you would notice that the callers name won't show.

Back up the contacts via the Nokia PC suite, delete and re-save on the phone. This would solve the problem.

My caller's names are not displayed

Nokias are infamous for not displaying names if you have the number in the phone twice (once in the SIM and once in the phone memory)
