I have a TOSHIBA TECRA TE 21000 machine. I find that the full screen does not get filled with the window though the resolution is fine. If I change the resolution the screen gets filled but the letters get distorted are most annoying.

Please help

The clock on my computer keeps reseting to 1/1/2009.

Replace the RTC Battery.

Real Time Clock battery. Also known as CMOS battery.

That's all I can tell you without a computer manufacturer name, and model number.

The model number can be found on the Bottom of the laptop.

PC Windows XP 2009 and my Resolution cant go back to original setting i have tryed reseting the whole computer and nothing. any suggestions?

Screen resolutions are a part of the display. Click Start/Control Panel/Display When the display window opens click the Settings tab. Look down near the center of the window and you will see the resolutions bar that you can slide our use you mouse pointer to make it change.

If it fails to change and you know when you started having this problem try clicking Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore. When System Restore comes up try restoring to a date and time before you started having this issue. Don't worry, System Restore does not delete any data, documents, music, pictures or videos. On the other hand System Recovery deletes everything and sets your system back to like it was when you first purchased it.

Need to go back to factory settings i have a virus

To clear the virus, the first thing you need is to find the original discs (CD's) that came with your system.
Second, find a friend that knows how to re-install the OS and let that friend do it if you are not comfortable because it's a lengthy process and you will need to re-install all the original drivers too in order for your system to work properly.
Good Luck

Where can i download software for resetting my laptop back to original manufacturer settings

Hi, In this case to reset the laptop to original factory condition there are no softwares however your computer would be having a software built onto a partition on the hard drive which you could access by tapping the F11 or Alt+F10 key as soon as you turn on the laptop and you would get the Gateway recovery management window wherein you would need to select the option "Restore system to factory defaults".Or else you could also use the set of CD's that you had got with the computer. Note:-When reseting to factory defaults all the data on your computer would be deleted so please do take a backup of all important information before performing the steps also make sure all external devices are unplugged from the laptop.
Thank you for your patience and best wishes for your effort.

How do I get the original cds that came with the computer for free? I am trying to update a friends computer and he doesn't have any of the original cds. I was looking online and there are places where you...

You don't get these disks for free. If a site offers them, they probably are pirated. The company that built the computer will usually sell you a replacement set for about $20 or so.

I am unable to open windows because i have forgotten my password

If you are certain there is nothing wrong with your notebook, consult your manual for how to restore your laptop to the original settings, something has happened to your windows installation. If your laptop came with restoration cd's use them to attempt a repair. Without knowing what OS you are running or what kind of messages or activity you are getting on the screen, this is the best advice I can provide for you.
