I have a black screen and when I try and take a photo, the pictures are just black. I have already tried pushing the display key.

Please advise and thank you!

I have the same problem...a black screen with visible menu items. And just like tholland542, my photos are black.

Please let me know if you find a solution.

Hi

Your lens is aperture is most likely stuck closed and the lens needs to be replaced. If you can see menus but can take only solid black photos then it is either the CCD or the aperture; most likely the aperture.

We have never been able to repair a stuck aperture, we always have to replace the lens on the camera. A CCD can be replaced, but you need a CCD to use and they are only sold as part of the entire lens assembly.

There are online places that will do it for a decent price and there are others that overcharge by way too much.

I know this because I OWN ONE that charges a reasonable price to do the repair! (Google 'darntoothysam')
