Question about PC Desktops

I have Norton Antivirus 2008. I have just purchased the same package again, just in case there was a problem with the first one. Norton's keeps saying that my advance firewall is not on and that the internet is at risk. I have checked many times and my windows firewall is turned on. Norton's won't turn green and fix itself. What can I do? I am really frustrated and mad that I have purchased another copy and my computer is still not protected.

Do u have XP or Vista? If u have XP then go into control pannel and click on SECURITY CENTER and c if ur firewall is on. If not turn it on.

ON VISTA 

Check your windefender is on or not.

This might not be the solution but it might be

try and make sure that nortons firewall is up and running and make sure that the windows firewall is allowing nortons antivirus through goto windows firewall and look to allow nortons through if it is not in the list put it in there

and make sure nortons firewall is allowing widows firewall

and make sure you have auto protect on plz let me know if this helps out

The key was strictly for a one year use, once the year is over you need to purchase it again. If you don't have the money you can get another antivirus that is even better than Norton and free for home use

What the disadvantages of norton antivirus and what are the performance norton antivirus


Norton may slow down the performance of your computer,and it is a paid software what i think is instead of going with this you can download any of these free software (avg,avast or avaira) they all are free for one year and do the same thing what norton does without slowing down your computer.

you better download or buy avast 4.8 home edition ! it is good . it gives your computer complete protection from viruses ,spy ware etc.the other way is to re- install the anti-virus(Norton) .give me high rating as i took time to answer your question..

I suggest that the only people who can answer your questions are the people at Norton. Obviously, I wouldn't ring that phone number again, because you will only get the same people you have already spoken to. I suggest that you WRITE to the Manager at Norton. (You'll find their address on their paperwork) and tell them everything that happened, and ask them the questions you want answered. And then you'll be in a position to know whether they deserve your business or not, and whether or not you have what you paid for, and if not, what they are going to do about it. Ask if they will give a refund if you have not got what you paid for. And I think that if you got a Virus while you were supposedly protected by their product, then you definitely Didn't get what you expected to.

It's possible you already have an antivirus program installed. You need to uninstall it, restart then install your Norton Antivirus.

Norton Antivirus 2008 purchased 4th July 2008 Order No.1644036072 £29.99. Confirmed paid on my Bank Statement.Can't Download. Need help as I keep getting reminders and I am not sure if I am covered.


No, even if you completed the purchase the antivirus is not active yet. You should have received, in the email used for the order, a link to the download, and a registration number.
Download the install program from the link and if required use the reg. number.
If you cannot find the email with the link check in spam mail, and in trash bin.
If you still cannot install the update, proceed from here to contact Symatech regarding your order, tell you cannot find the download, they will send a new one.
After installing the antivirus, you will need to connect to the internet to validate installation.

I've already purchased Norton antivirus 2008 with antispyware and loaded but my screen still blue and shows Warning spyware detected in computer & to install antivirus or spyware wich i did.


That blue screen sounds like a trick to me. Many viruses and spywares or the websites that distribute them make beleive that they are causing viruses then provide links to fake antivirus and spyware removal programs that actually make your system worst.

Use the Norton to purchased to do a full deep scan of your system. I also like to supplement my Norton by running the free scan at housecall.trendmicro.com when I suspect there might be a problem on my machine that Norton can't fix.

I have try to install norton ANTIVIRUS 2008 on my system vista and keep getting a error msg need to updates but keep getting a error msg error trying to install updates.


From Norton website, this is the minimum specs inorder to make it work. Do you have this ?
  • 300MHz or higher processor
  • 256MB of RAM
  • 300MB of available hard disk space
** Must meet minimum Windows Vista operating system requirements.
