I have a motherboard coxcomb 865G7MF LGA 775 FSB 1066DDR-400 / AGP 8X. I was watching a DVD and suddenly the screen froze an it looked like someone Messed up a puzzle. The computer didn't respond after that. I restarted and when the home screen came back it was frozen so o restarted again, when I did that a high pitched sound started coming in regular laps and the screen was dead. The computer did nothing after that. What could it be ?

if the BIOS does not have the configurations for it, you could try getting a BIOS firmware update, or buying a new BIOS from the company. otherwise it cannot be done.b

I had a similar problem with my pc sometime ago. The main cause for this is oxidized DIMM contacts. just take out your RAM wipe its edge(The end which you insert into the slot) using an eraser and that should fix the issue. Also make sure the sound is not coming from your hard disk. If it is then just push in the power connector of the hard drive in(it has 4 pins).
