I turned on my L3 this morning - the splash welcome screen showed and the graphics on the screen are showing but there's no image from the lens (in any mode - normal, scene or video). There's clearly power to the camera and the screen works, so does anyone know what might be going on? Might the shutter be stuck closed? Is my L3 a gonner..?
Chhers,

Thanks for your help, dlundmark. I wouldn't have thought that it might be the ccd, although I did later realise it couldn't be the shutter (!). That gives me more to go on with Nikon UK, though.
Hi: This sounds internal and could be a bad ccd (sensor). If you call Nikon at their toll free number and ask them, it may be possible that they will fix this for free. They will let you know if it is too much to fix, in which case it will be returned to you. With Nikon you will need to pay for shipping to Nikon's repair facility. For possible repair see this link and call the toll free number at the service center... https://www.nikondealernet.com/sal4/ Take care

Okay, I'm back and I'm still having problems. The camera now does take pictures, but they're largely orange in hue and have pale stripes across them. Video capture colour seems okay, but the results seem a little jerky.
Still think it could be the CCD?
Many thanks.
M.
