Hello, The splash guard under the car ripped off while driving. ripped off the bottom fog light and frnt passenger side wheel well along with it. Called chrysler and they said it was due to the front clips being ripped off by parking to far over a parking stump. Is this a defect or not because i spoke to several dealerships and they all told me that they fix 10 instances like mine a week. should this be repaired by chrysler at no cost to me since i was unaware of this problem?

It is not a manufacturer problem but a driver fault in not parking correctly
the manufacturer cannot be help responsible for every driver action in every parking space
if all the repairs were in the same area or parking lot , you may have a claim against the parking lot owner for having a substandard parking stump but you will need a group claim to get anywhere

SOURCE: steering frozen, front passenger wheel fell off, repair cost?

no he only did what was necessary to try to get the vehicle to where you needed it to go, if the steering was already locked thats probably why it was locked. but no the tow truck driver did only as requested and did not cause the damage

SOURCE: 2005 chevy equinox cracked head

Sounds kind of high to me...I'm assuming they are putting in a new head at that price. I'd get the vehicle back and get estimates from a good shop (not a dealer) that can locate a used head and replace yours. Replacing a head should not take more than a day or two.

SOURCE: 2005 Yukon Denalli - Blow cold air out the drivers side

the passenger side electronic controller is sensing the passenger side temperature is cooler than it really is, which causes the controller to increase the hot water flow to warm up the passenger area...any time you replace a battery or loose your charge, the HVAC module will need to be reset...Try this...
Remove your hvac fuse for 10 sec - reinstall fuse. Start engine "DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING FOR 3 MINUTES" Recalibration of module will accure when power is lost (fuse pulled, battery changed or died) If hvac reset did not work you have a trouble code - reset BCM There are two ways to reset your body control module Go to the GENERAL Remove BOTH battery cables (for the sake of CAUTION remove air bag fuse and wait 5 MINUTES) Hold both cables together for 1 minute - drains KAM (keep alive memory). Put everything back together Start the engine "DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING FOR 3 MINUTES" If you have no broken parts - system not default (normal operation)

If that works it just saved you 600 dollars...dealer costs to repair.

Good Luck...please rate me a fixya.

Horn location 2000 GMC pickup

Your horn should be located on the front passenger side behind the passenger splash guard located in the wheel well. it is well out of sight from the engine compartment. You should be able to get under the car and see a conch snail shape held by a bracket on the other side of the passenger splash guard covered by the bumper.

Where is the battery located on a 1998 Chrysler curris?

It's inside the front drivers' side wheel well. Jack up the car and remove the inner splash guards. There's a splash guard under the battery, and the rest of the splash guard is 2 parts.
It's not necessary, but it might be easier to remove the wheel to access all the bolts/plastic rivets.

Need to know how to change head lights on 2005 cadllac sts

There is the dealer which i believe is around $200.00 and there is the DIY which will cause you to have many bad words to be used.
On a scale of 1-10 (10=engine rebuild), I would score it a 1.5. Here is a general approach, not intended as a detailed procedure.
1. Remove front wheel well front half splash guard, each side. There are about 2 screws and the guard pulls forward to seperate from the rear half. 2. After removing the splash guard, you can access one screw that attaches the front fascia, each side. 3. Then about 6 plastic push pin type screws along the bottom, underneath. 4. About 5 push pin type screws on the top. 5. Fascia should then simply pull forward. It is a bit bulky and an extra pair of hands is helpful. 6. Then there are 3 screws to remove the headlamp assembly. Unclip the wiring harness. 7. Then 4 screws to remove the bulb access cover plate. Bulbs are 9005 for high beam and H11 for low beam. Replace the little bulb.....I think it might be H3.
Here is another way:
For the fogs, need to remove front wheels and then remove the plastic wheel well liner (plastic push pins hold it in place).
For the small bulbs in the inside corner of the headlight housing: Open hood. Remove air cleaner box for drivers side bulb access.
For the passenger side, need to loosen the fuse box. Open cover, there is a deep nut that you need to get to with an extension. Then fuse box will be able to be pushed to the side so hand can fit to access back of light. You do not need to unplug any electrical connections, as you do not need to remove the fuse box.
On the back of the headlight housing there are two light gray plastic covers, one behind, and one toward the center of the car. The one toward the center of the car needs to come off, I believe there is just one screw holding it on. Once this cover is off, I believe there is a little holder that twists off which has the bulb attached.
The most difficult part is getting the bolt off that is deep down in the fuse box behind the passenger light. I believe I had to use a 8 inch extension with a angled socket attachment to get to it. I used masking tape to tape all the pieces of the socket apparatus I made together so that they would stay together and fall down into the fuse box (socket set isn't the greatest)
Good luck and hope this helps.

I ran into a truck and damaged the front passenger side of my car. the day after i hit him the ABS and park brake light came on on the dash. later that night the car would not start. i have been told it...

i dont know how heavy was the hit but sound like you have to check your front end including brakes and drive train for damages. check your coolant level you may damaged the radiator. ecm behind the driver side fog light remove the splash guard driver side to reach it.

Sounds like something hits under passenger side near front of car. My son decribes it as a hard grinding sound. Thank you, Mrs. Margaret A. Hunt [email protected] (661) 283-0674 (661) 4285005 my cell (661)...

Does the sound only occur when you're turning the wheel? If so, it may be a failing CV joint.. It could also be a loose drive axle connecting rod. My 97 Tercel CE had an unusual problem: there is a strange rubber/metal "donut" thing which is mounted on the main drive axle, mine came loose and was whacking around along the axle's shaft.

If you remove the passenger side front wheel, then take off the splash guard (two 10mm bolts on the side in the wheel well + two 10mm nuts on the front) you can see the drive axle. If the rubber/metal stabilizer donut has broken loose from the clips which hold it in place, then it will whack around regardless of what speed/direction you're going.

In my case, in the end I was too lazy to disconnect the drive axle and wheel assembly, so I just took some large zip ties and re-fastened the donut into approximately the proper place on the drive axle. That solved my problem, and it runs smoothly now.

Hopefully it's not your CV joint! Hope this helps.
