My 2005 Malibou Maxx ls loses power without warning. Sometimes it happens when it is cold but yesterday I had been drivving for over 1/2 hour before it suddenly stopped. It doesn't happen every time I go out but happens about once a week. I have had it to the garage several times and they have replaced the thermostat and replaced a part in the transmission. They also checked the battery terminals but nothing has helped.

Can be a sign the cam or crank sensor is on its way out, can also be a dirty MAF sensor. cam sensor will make the engine run ruff, MAF will make engine ruff and not idle properly, Crank sensor if it fails it shuts engine down as it dont know were the engine is at on its cycle. air filter changed or replaced damage air filter will coat the maf with muck and it will need cleaning off the sensor, easy to do with MAF cleaner. sensors they can fail when they to hot for them to run anymore or to cold. the resistance in the sensor goes up and down in different temperatures. some time when it goes completely out of range the engine light comes on, but a failing one that is still in range makes the engine run out of order.

SOURCE: Factory remote start on 2004 Malibu Maxx stopped working

Fixed!!! I had several problems with my wife's remote start/lock/unlock/trunk/ panic. First it stopped working, i replaced the battery to find out that the battery holder inside the remote had broken solder at two points. Went to Harbor Freight bought a solder gun for $5 and solder wire for about $2. Once home i soldered the points back together (first time i've ever soldered anything). Put the new battery in and it didn't work. I pulled the whole thing apart and took the circuit board and touched the contacts where the button would have pushed at with a piece of metal. They locked and unlocked the car. So i knew at that point that the rubber thing was jacked. i got some tin foil and 5minute epoxy. Then i clued little tiny squares on the little black Nipples where they would contact the circuit board. Waited 6 minutes and put back together. Found out that if you start the car twice with out puting the key in the ignition you can't use the remote start. After putting the key in the ignition and starting it you reset the system and can remote start again. Dealer wanted 114 for the key remote and 54 to reprogram the remote to the car. I fixed my factory remote for under $20. Hope this helps someone

SOURCE: The warning light for stabilitrak

you will have to drive it to the dealer, if it leaves you stranded call a tow truck. all 2007 and up gm cars and trucks should have a 5 year 100k warranty so you should be covered as long as the check engine lamp is not flashing it is not a serious issue if it acts up, try pulling over shutting it off and restarting to see if it resets

The cart loses power and wont move but if you turn it off and on again it comes good and sometimes it does not

What are the conditions when this happens? Is it always when it is warm or cold? Are there any noises associated with it or warning lights? Do you watch your guages? Does anything change on the guages when it loses power? How long or far can you go before this happens and how often?

Power steering fluid?

The power steering on your 2005 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx has electronic power-assist and not hydraulic power-assist so there is no hydraulic fluid. If you're not already aware, this vehicle is part of a major recall from General Motors for power steering failure. Contact your local Chevrolet dealership for more information. You will need your vehicles VIN as shown on your registration or dash plaque. Hope this helps.

How does one check transmission oil in 2005 chevy malibu maxx

You don't yourself. The lube change shop or garage can do this (requires special tools or removal of the pan). for a 2005 you're likely in need of a flush. some models can have a dipstick installed, but its not necessary. Unless you have a serious leak of fluid or shifting issues, it's rare to lose fluid. If you are having issues, then start with a flush and inspection BY A REPUTABLE GARAGE. do not use a dealer or transmission shop, they will always find ways to seprate you from your $$$
