Mounting camera on Fotomate Tripod

Hi,

I have bought a Foromate Tripod.

The screw with threads on the top is where i am supposed to fix the camera. However, when i load the camera on top of it and rotate it, it never comes to a perfect fit. The screw otherwise is also loose. Is it a problem with the tripod?

SOS!

Try adding a flexible filler, such as cork or card stock, or a few buisness cards work as well at times. Cork and card stock are both avaible at a hobby store. Place the mounting bolt through the filler, and snug it up. it should fill the gap you have between the camera and plate. Also take care of the sloppyness of the screw. Good luck.

Does the company that makes this tripod sell the small square part that screws into the camera?

Tripod quick mount plates (the part that is secured to the camera) are specific to tripod manufacturer. A tripod without a mating mounting plate is pretty much worthless as there is no way to mount the camera to it.

You will need to contact the manufacturer (or a reputable camera store) and provide the model of your tripod and the size of the threaded mount in you camera - most are either 1/4" or 3/8".

Good luck!

How adjust the vertical viewing

are you just mounting a camera to the tripod itself? - you need to purchase a head as well - the head screws onto the top of the tripod, and then the camera fixes to the head, usually with a qr plate.

Fujifilm s5000 battery door broken

g'day
i broke mine a couple of years ago and fixed it by drilling and tapping two holes to suit 6-32 x 11/4" bolts as shown in the attached photo... one of the holes had to be enlarged to suit 6mm x20 because the thread is in a very flimsy area and had stripped
BTW the battery cover doesnt have to be removed from the camera as is shown in the photo! the photo was taken after i disassembled the camera for another repair

it works well with a couple of provisos...
1- the bolt heads may get in the way of mounting the camera on some tripods without modification
2-not as quick to change the batteries
3- dont screw the bolts down too tight - or the threads will strip

before this method i made a metal plate, the same shape as the base of the camera and used the camera tripod socket to attach it... thus keeping the battery door closed [ the advantage of this was that i could drill and tap a thread to attach the lot to a tripod - and the tripod mounting hole could be ia the centreline of the lens - making panoramas easier]11_28_2011_10_48_37_am.jpg

I have a QS-TM and I want to know if there is an attatchment to let me use this tripod for a canon camera?

Tripod mounts are standard size for most cameras, there are strictly speaking 2 sizes but it is unusual to find a modern camera with the wrong size; it should screw directly into the camera (assuming you have a "standard" mounting plate with the tripod!) If it is too large/small you need an adapter, 3/8" to 1/4" or vice versa, but that would be unusual. Most 35mm camera bodies accept a 1/4" diameter, 20 thread-count screw

Screwing camera onto tripod quick release

Usually the camcorder has a hole next to the mounting screwhole. The plastic nub fit into the unthreaded hole, the mounting screw screws into the threaded hole. The nub is to help prevent the camcorder from rotating while you are using it on the tripod.

How to fit canon s5is on a tripod stand (fotomate)?

I'm not sure what you're asking. There is a threaded tripod socket on the bottom of the camera. You just screw the tripod into this socket. Is that what you were asking?

Unable to unscrew camera from mounting plate tripod

The mounting plate may have a small pin with a spring to fit certain kinds of cameras.
Don't try to twist the plate off the camera, that may damage the bottom of the camera.
Instead, the plate should have a slotted screw in the bottom that screws into the camera. Unscrew the bolt with a good screwdriver.

Hope that helps.
