Computer keeps saying configurating updates turns off and on all day if i let it..its windows vista

It's a simple problem.Windows is downloading updates without letting you know.Go to the control panel. Then open automatic updates. Here you can ' turn off ' automatic updates. That should take care of the problem. The downside however is that you will not get any new updates from Microsoft( which frankly aren't needed at all ).There's also an option to instruct Windows to inform you before downloading the updates, but then be prepared for pesky windows pop ups .

Hey my Compaq Presario sr1103wm is not working right. I downloaded google chrome and an adobe flashplayer now every time i start it it says that i need to reactivate windows in three days. do you know what...

hello!

once you downloaded through internet then update are install on your laptop by microsoft. and prompt for reactivation gives means they counter flick your windows as pirated and prompt message to reactivate windows. I would suggest to you install genuine copy of windows show that your system is more protective and faster by giving update by microsoft.

'Driver not loaded & Windows not genuine' pop ups

Ok,Let me put it to you this way.Lets say I bought a Windows CD and loaded it onto my computer. On my CD jewel case I would have a long key number that I would need to enter into my computer before I could completely install Windows. I would have three days to either call Microsoft and register my software with a call person,or I would have the same three days to do it over the internet. Either way I did it, my CD key would now be tagged to my computer and registered with Microsoft . Microsoft takes a picture so to speak of my computer hardware and would store that information with my CD key. If I gave you my CD and you used the already registered key and tried to register it, Microsoft would see that your computer was not a match to it's data base and would flag your computer as not having a genuine copy of Windows hence the "nag" as it is called. You need to get your own CD key using the two methods I suggested and register that Key with Microsoft.

I have an acer aspire laptop, when i start it up its says configuring updates stage 3 of 3 0% complete then it will shut down come back on say the same again and shut down again. it will keep on doing this

Maybe you could try the last known good configuration. When the laptop is starting up, wait until the acer screen disappears and then tap F8 on the keyboard before the windows screen comes up. You should get a black screen with some options that say safe mode. The fourth or so option on the list will be "Last Known Good Configuration". The computer should try and load windows. Hopefully that will restore the machine before the update.

If it works it would be a good idea to go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and fully update your laptop. This will download the update manually instead of doing it with automatic updates.

Unable to install Audio driver

If your CD Driver is not working, try researching it in the internet. Go to the Compaq website and type your laptop model so it will find the right driver for your laptop. Once you find it, download and try to install it.

From Norton website, this is the minimum specs inorder to make it work. Do you have this ?
  • 300MHz or higher processor
  • 256MB of RAM
  • 300MB of available hard disk space
** Must meet minimum Windows Vista operating system requirements.

Laptop not booting

sounds like you have not only a vista issue here, but a potential boot sector virus...if it won't boot from cd, then there's a major issue with that machine.Fujitsu to the rescue, looks like to me
