Question about Whirlpool GEW9250 Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Duet Dryer Dryer has a distinct burning smell on high, medium or low settings. But clothes don't smell bad, just the inside of the dryer.  I checked the lint trap and the hose from the back of the dryer it looks pretty clean.  Any ideas why there is a burning smell?

LG Dryer low heat doesn't work

It may be as simple as checking your lint filter.
If you use fabric softeners sheets, they tend to clog the lint filter holes. Washing it with soap and water will restore it back to normal and will allow the circulation that the dryer needs to properly dry your clothes.

My dryer wont dry laundry in1 cycle

A lot of the times if a dryer starts taking numerous cycles to dry clothes it is because the vent to the outdoors has become clogged with lint. This keeps the dryer from being able to discharge the moist air. You can buy dryer vent brushes with a wire attached that you can use to keep the vent clean.

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

Dryer getting hot

Dryers overheating is usually caused by a venting problem, but it sounds like you have the bases covered on that. I would look at a faulty high limit thermostat. It can be checked with an ohm meter to see if it is faulty. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Try turning down the heat setting on your dryer. This should help immensely. Dry these types of clothing on say "medium" setting and the heavier things on normal heat.

Whirlpool Duet Dryer is scorching clothes

there is a sensor in the exhaust line in the dryer, near the motor. this tells the heating element to shut off when it gets to a certain temp, either during reg cycle or if the exhaust gets clogged, it is meant as a safety measure, but it sounds like yours is bad so the heating element never shuts off. it is not an expensive part and easy to replace
