Rainbows draw a lot of power. It may have tripped the circuit breaker for the receptacle you have it plugged into. first make sure the receptacle is ok, especially if it is plugged into a ground fault receptacle. . Next, unplug the vacuum, take off the tank and see if you can spin the impeller by hand. If you can spin it, the motor is free. If plugged into a good receptacle and the power cord is not cut or broken and still does not run then the motor is bad. it could be the brushes in the motor(which can be replaced), or the armature is shorted out, meaning you need to replace the motor.

I have a cordless vacuum cleaner that is intermittently turning off and on continuously even though the trigger is pressed down. What could be the problem?

Could be a faulty switch, internal wiring or electronics. Might also be the motor is running hot due to insufficient cooling air or a fault and a protection device is cutting the power to protect it.

Only a deeper investigation will discover the cause.

Stopped working - what could it be?

The first thing you should inspect is the power cord. Check it to make sure it is not damaged from the plug up to the vacuum. If it is damaged, you should replace it. If the cord checks out ok the next thing to check is the thermal switch located near the motor, not all vacuums are equipped with a thermal switch though. The thermal switch is a resettable switch, if it trips you can either manually reset it or it may reset itself. The last thing that you should check is the vacuum cleaner motor, If the vacuum still has no power it will most likely have to be replaced.

VACUUM CLEANING IS NOT COMING ON

Check for power in the plug to the main switch. In most cases the long wires break or damage affter prolonged use. If the switch activate power then check power tilll motor. If so the motor is defective and might be though of for estimation of cost. Look out also for a load trip switch.
If motor brushes are bad clean and set but if winding is open you need to estimate.

Kenmore vac won't shut off, blowing heavy air from vent

For the stack of problems you have, it sounds like it be best for you to ditch it and get a new vacuum. The heavy problem sounds like a motor issue. The burning smell is most likely from the belt being loose on the power head.

Economically, you should just get a new one instead of replacing the whole system guts

My electrolux canister vacuum roller does not spin even though it has power.

When the vacuum is one and the switch for on for the carpet position. There is a small button the the floor attachment which we call the power head. It will b in the place of where the head becomes L shaped its either black or red. Push the button while the machine is on. If it does not work call ur electrolux dealer and have them pick it up. Or call me I'm a dealer and can have UPS pick it up no charge for u 1-866-966-9350.
