May be the usb port has gone bad or may be during installation of the drive the device may not have configured properly.
to configure u need to go to the device manager > type devmgmt.msc > press enter > find Universl Serial Bus Controllers > expand by clicking the "+" sign > now uninstall all the devices listed below one-by-one.
to uninstall :
1. right click
2. click properties (a new window will appear)
3. click the driver tab
4. click uninstall button

after uninstalling all the drivers insert the pendrive and it will automatically install the drivers.
if does not work try to install it manually. to install type devmgmt.msc > press enter > find Universl Serial Bus Controllers > expand by clicking the "+" sign > now uninstall all the devices listed below one-by-one.
to install :
1. right click
2. click properties (a new window will appear)
3. click the driver tab
4. click install button
if still not resolved

Your problem is that the usb port is damaged and the only solutions worked for me too is that you have to remove the psb where the usb port is located and you should detached it and change with a new one...works perfectly than.

Keyboard is inactive just **** it is not recognized
Try unplugging the keyboard and then plugging it back in. You could also try swapping it to a different USB port (assuming it is a USB keyboard) to rule out USB port malfunction.

Also, make sure that you have the appropriate drivers installed, either from the driver cd provided with the product or downloadable from the manufacturer website.

Hello! My Nspire is off and I can not connect it in any way. Is there a malfunction or sequence of keys to someone connects it.
  1. Install the TINspire Link software on your computer. You will find it on the CD that shipped with the calculator or you can download the latest version from education.ti.com Software downloads.
  2. Take the USB mini To USB cable and insert mini jack in calculator USB port and the other (Standard USB) in a USB port of the calculator.
  3. Turn calculator ON.
  4. Run the TI Nspire Computer Link software on your computer. It will search for the calculator and will find it on one USB port.

No access to USB drive when inserted (Windows). ''Malfunction'' error message.
Sometimes when a flash memory stick fails because it was not removed from the USB port properly. If the device is removed by just pulling it out of the USB port, it can cause the flash device to fail, you must click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon on the Task Bar and select the device you wish to remove and only do so when instructed to do so.

When the flash memory device appears to malfunction it maybe possible to restore it by reformatting it. Insert the flash drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management.
Then right click on Disk 1 removable drive and click Format. After the flash drive has been formatted it will indicate that it is Healthy.

You need to format the external drive. Format the drive as primary drive and in FAT32. (FAT32 will allow data to be exchanged between MACs and PCs).
Insert the external hard drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management.
Then right click on Disk 1 removable drive and click Format. After the flash drive has been formatted it will indicate that it is Health

Malfunction
This can occur if the pen drive was inserted into a HUB rather than direct into a proper usb 2.0 port on the compuer.

It can also happen if the dmive has been mistreated in any way.

You may want to try re-format it from the computer mangement console
rather than my computer or windows explorer

i ball tablet comes with a driver cd.. uninstall your usb unknown device and install the driver..it should work properly..

else connect to internet and update your diriver..

as for 2000 the same procedure will work...

CHECK THE RATING ON YOUR POWER SUPPLY BECAUSE SOME LAPTOPS WILL REGISTER THE POWER CONNECTION PORT AS A USB PORT AND IF YOUR POWER SUPPLY VOLTAGE IS TO HIGH FOR THE COMPUTER IT WILL REGISTER IT AS SUCH, "HUB-PORT" IS SHORT FOR MAINBOARD PORT ON SOME DELLS.
