    Thanks for the response I do appreciate your imput and it may be a "smudge" or it may be a scratch but at least I can let them know where to start with it. You are the greatest. By the way do you know what the screen is made of?

Good Day, sam;
Sam it depends on "smudge".
If it's an oily type; then a mild soap, like dawn, on damp, warm soft cotton type cloth may remove it.
There are products found in most large best buy, circuit stores that sell a screen cleaner. It's sold in a small spay bottle, about 2-3 ounces. Always spray onto cloth NOT screen. Always wipe/clean with up & down strokes, NOT side to side or at an angle.
If the screen is smudged after attempts of trying to 'cleanning' a scratch, then only replacing the screen will fixya problem, cost will be in the range of $100.00-$250.00.
Good Luck, hope this was helpful, big IRISH.

Wt-46809 has convergance issues

Replacing the Convergence IC's should do the trick. But it is not a easy repair do to the disassembly requierments. I would recommend calling Mitsubishi at 18003322119 to get a local service facility to come out and give you a estimate to repair.

Good Day, dimen;
This looks great. Check this out;

SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT. 3. SELF-DIAGNOSIS INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC4B01 PART # 270P261020 (VERTICAL OUTPUT) LOADING 24-VOLT SUPPLY LINE. LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB. Good Luck, big IRISH.

Mitsubishi WT-46809 pitcure is gone

your tech didnt know what he was talking about because that model usually only has problems with bad compacitors which is usually a very inexspensive fix however if he replaced the chip he probably replaced the eprong and failed to reprogram I would recomend you getting a service manual for your tv with online free tech support that wll try to help you straighten out this problem because it would be much cheaper than replacing either the board or your tv you may be able to fix this yourself with the tech support or at worse case senerio the tech will be able to get you a new board for a lot less than 500.00

Thanks for your help with the Mitsubishi WT 46809 but, there is more:

Fuses and IC's are soldered in on large PC board in center of chassis....
Your model is a tight fit that is usually repaired by chassis pull first, then
board repair, normally by a skilled Mits tech........
