Question about Acer Aspire 5600 Series 5630-6951 Laptop

Laptop wont power up

Hey Phil,

I took the entire laptop apart , removed the hard drive, dvd writer ram, screen and every other component on the mother board. The minute I plug in the power adapter the light on the adapter starts to blink and to my knowledge that kind od indicates that there is some short on the board. Where or how I diagnose this problem is a mystrey.Do you have any ideas? Please advise if you can help in any way
Thanks again

Remove all of the ram, turn the laptop on if it does not beep you have a bad motherboard. If it beeps replace the memory and remove the hard drive turn on the laptop and see if it posts. If it posts without the hard drive then the hard drive is bad. Otherwise it is probably still a bad motherboard.

Laptop will turn on,but wont boot up

L300 boot problems

L300 series laptops are very good normally but don't boot up if there is a device in the USB slot or a CD/DVD in the drive.
If it still refuses to POST, remove the AC Adapter, remove the battery and remove the hard drive.
Power the unit up without the hard drive and it should complete POST and complain that there is no hard drive. If that doesn't work remove AC adapter, ensure battery is disconnected and remove hard drive and RAM. Try again. If it still doesn't work, you have a mother board fault and it needs a service centre. www.Toshiba.com will help you out.
If it does work at one of the options, when you have closed the laptop down, replace the RAM first and test, then the Hard Drive.
Hope this fixes your problem.

My acer aspire 1360 wont turn on when i power up al;l i get is a black screen, the motherboard light flashes once and then goes off leaving only the power light on please help!!

Start taking your laptop apart piece by piece and test it after each removed component:
1. Remove the hard drive and test the laptop.
2. Remove the DVD drive and test the laptop.
3. Remove the wireless card and test the laptop.
4. Unplug the display panel from the motherboard/video card and test the laptop.
etc....
Continue taking it apart until you have only three major components connected: motherboard (with video card), processor, and memory. If you still experience the same problem, most likely it's bad motherboard.
By the way, before you start, try reconnecting the memory module. If you have two modules installed, try removing them one by one and test the laptop with each one separately.
