We have a Samsung PS50Q91HDX Plasma Tv which is not quite 3yrs old. Ever since we have had it, it turns itself on & off at random but this is not the main problem. Last night we were watching a show when all of a sudden the screen went blank, we could hear the show, we could change channels ect but we have lost the picture, is this something that would be worth getting fixed or would it be cheaper to buy a new tv (Lewiston South Australia)?

If you have a usb input and the set has the correct codecs built in, you will be able to watch a movie. May not work with all files. The usb input on a dvd blue ray will usually work with everything however.

I have a Samsung Plasma PN63A650 that has worked 4 8 years, until today. I turned it on, stays on for 14 seconds, then turns off for 8 seconds. Would not respond to remote commands either

After turning the tv on.. it turns off and on by itself randomly. need help in figuring out which boards need replacing

Before going to inside boards check external power cables and tighten them if loose.

My tv just starting randomly turning itself of and back on. I can here it clicking on and off several times before it restores itself. It has done this about 6 times today.

Replaced swollen capacitors on power board.

Our samsung le40r87bd is making a strange clicking noise wont come on can u help its about 3yrs old and has not given us any trouble before this!

The clicking sound is coming from the regulator in the power supply. It is trying to turn itself on, notices that the voltages are not correct and turns itself off to protect the rest of the TV and repeats. You need to replace the power supply.

Display IC seems to have gone. It will be a replaceable module. Only you have to figure out which one it is. Such thing happen in electronics. Look for any burnt or bulged IC.

This is weird. I also have a plasma 50" model PS5Q91HDX and on the 5/02/11 the screen went blank when my friends daughter was watching a Wiggles DVD. The image kept coming back, flashing a scene or two before going black again. But the sound is perfect.

I wonder what is going on? Is anyone else having trouble with their 3-4 year old Samsung 50" TVs???

I am. It just flickers a bit on and off but I have Bose sound, still works ok. But the screen goes dim then seems to get better within a couple minutes. I feel like its slowly dying..Its 6 months old and I have warranty but if I get geek squad out they will prob say it looks fine.

I have the same tv with the same problem, I had a tech look at it and tell me to replace the Ysus board and buffers, I purchased both parts on Ebay (refurbished) for $180 in total incuding shipping, fixed issue.
