I am having the same problem.....I can't figure out what is going on. I formatted and re-installed the hard drive with the OS and that still didn't help. I ran exhaustive memory and hard drive tests, all of which showed no errors.

I removed the wireless card and am using a USB wireless adapter and am having some success with that....hopefully it will continue, but I'm not too hopeful. If anyone has any more info on this, I'd love to hear it!!!!

The dv6000 series was commonly affected by the video card heating up and reseating itself. This was usually a soldering issue. You have a few options, You can either replace the motherboard, or have the motherboard reflowed. Unfortunately the video card itself is not detachable or individually replaceable.

I personally would recommend the second option as purchasing another dv6000 board will likely end you up in the same situation a year or 2 later.

A repair / reflow services on ebay
Dv6000 Repair

This repair tech only does amd processor models, Not intel.

Hope this helps.

HOW DO I TAKE MY HP PAVILION DV6000 OFF OF SAFE MODE. BECAUSE THE PC CUT OFF CAUSE OF LOW BATTERY. I JUST WANT PC TO BE BACK IN REGULAR MODE NOT SAFE MODE

You should just have to shut it down in safe mode and reboot. And it should come up in normal mode. You can try hitting F8 when you turn it on until you get the boot menu and then select boot in normal mode.
If it keep wanting to go into safe mode it may need to reboto a few times to clear out something before it behaves but it should boot into normal mode on its own.

Windows xp keeps failing

check the bios and see what the boot order is for the boot devices. Hard disk 0 should be listed after the cdrom drive. this problem you are having might occur if the hard drive is down the list in the boot order, and not checked as being a valid boot device.
