Drive not detected in Mac

I had used the Maxtor OneTouch 4 drive on a pc and the backup functions worked fine.  When i began my transformation to an iMac, the Maxtor drive "reformatted" and i was able to install the drive to the mac.  However, when i try to use the Maxtor Manager, no drives appear for me to select.  I use the Disk Utility to check the drive, and it came up with Drive should be ok.
i cut/pasted the screenshot to Maxtor Support and was radio silent after asking me what model i had (which i promptly answered).  Any suggestions would help!  thanks!
