I got your issue, since the power light on the router is blinking and you have mentioned that you have reset the router , so its Obvious the router has gone faulty check with your linksys whether there is any replacement for your router.
Some routers blink to show there is ACTIVITY on the ethernet and internet ports, For example you broadband modem is connected to a port on hte back of your router this has a light it would blink on some routers to show activity, and likewise with the ethernet side.
If you have internet access and have zero issues this is NORMAL.
thanks for your question please do rate your answer, Thanks
Hi Friend Please follow the steps to reset the router in a different way
1) Press the reset button for 10 secs and after that unplug the power cable from the router and wait for 10 secs 2) Plug the power cable back and press the reset button again for 10 secs and after that unplug the power cable from the router and wait for 10 secs 3) Plug the power cable back and press the power button for 10 secs again and unplug the power cable from the router for 10 secs
After trying these steps if you see the power light still blinking then you need to replace the router. Please call the customer care of linksys 1800 546 5797,they will let you know how to replace the router
blinking power light after firmware upgrade sometimes indicates that the upgrade is not sucessful or the firmware that you load is incorrect.
-- try to reset the router for 30secs and check if the power light is still blinking
-- if its still blinking check your pc's ip address while connected to the router
-- if the ip address of your pc is invalid (169.x.x.x.) turn to manually assign static ip address to your computer and check if you can ping your routers ip address
-- if you can ping the routers ip address, upload the correct firmware to your router
-- if you cant ping your routers ip address still, reset the router again and try to ping the routers ip address once again
-- try to change port and cables
-- if still unable to ping the routers ip address, chances are that the router might be defective now
Usually these routers have a reset function. Look at your users guide for the actual reset button. Sometimes the reset button is accessed with the use of a paper clip, which is pushed into the reset hole. This will reset the router back to factory defaults. You will lose all settings, so it would be a good idea to jot down on paper whatever settings you have applied for connectivity, so that you will be able to reapply those settings again afterwards.
May be your ADSL modem has clapped out it sounds like it.
You say you can connect via the PC modem that means the dialup is working......I imagine you have tried the ID logon and password for the ADSL also and it still wont connect. Try support at your ISP and if it still dont connect then it must be had it, you will need to buy another.
