Yes the European cars are pretty much the same as the American cars. You will be able to plug into the cigarette lighter socket and charge your satnav.

USB port on the backside of the Garmin Nuvi 265WT GPS broken. Can someone repair/replace the port?

The cost of repairs will be more than the cost of a new unit. A special tool is needed to open the unit to depress the multiple spring pressure locks all at the same time.

I want use this nevi in erope country how can setting .thank u

If you purchased this in the USA it will have North American basemaps and detail maps (probably a version of City Navigator). To use it in Europe, you will need to purchase Europe maps from the Garmin web site and install them. I have seen Europe maps for other Garmin units, so I would anticipate that they would be available for your 265WT.

Do i need to charge the bettrey of my garmin 265wt GPS before using??

YES !!

Make sure you have a fully charged battery before downloading ur maps.... the map download my take up to an hour or so to upload...

once you charge your battery this is what you need to do:

Using the USB cable connect your gps to computer.... ( if you didnt get a usb cable you could use most camera usb cables they connect the same way )

your computer will detect new hardware, a autoplay box will pop up, you can minimise it

next

go to www.MyGarmin.com

it too will detect your new unit and have you Register your GPS.... its free

Garmin will have you download WebUpDater utility this is what you need to transferr and open Maps

follow the easy directions your not long from completion..

********** where you first setup your gps this wil be called your SECURITY LOCATION..... if you ever lock your unit you need a Pin Number to unlock it..... if you forget or lose your Pin Number you must return to the SECURITY LOCATION where you set up to unlock your GPS

My Garmin 255 quit displaying my destination map when I have it plugged in to the cigarette lighter when traveling. It just shows a charging display. After a while when it gets some charge to it I will...

This problem is caused by the mini usb plug of the power cord not being fully plugged into the back of the satnav. It's a common problem on 200 series garmin satnavs. Because of the way it's made you think it's fully in but it's not. Push it in further and the problem will be solved.

Been given a tom tom, with no charger apart from cigarette lighter adapter, ONCE CONNECTED WHEN SHOULD I EXPECT A RESPONSETO ENABLE ME TO INSTALL INFO. THANKS JENNY

Tom Tom GPS only brings a car charger and a USB to Mini USB cable that allows you to sync with your computer. For more info on your specific unit visit the Tom Tom site. You can also download the needed interface software for your unit at their web site. The USB cable isn't very expensive if you need to replace it. And once you have it, you will be able to update maps or download and install maps for other countries and even some fun voices if your unit supports it.
Download the software you need first and then connect your TOM TOM. Follow the prompts. Install any updates and you should be okay.

My Garmin 265wt will not turn on for navigation when connected to a computer anymore. It displays the computer connection but I cannot get to the navigation while charging like I had before. Any help how...

I asked Garmin how to display maps when connecting a 265WT to a PC with a USB cable. Based on the following reply I received from Garmin the answer is you can't. Have you ever updated your software in your Garmin 265WT. Perhaps you were able to display a map with the USB cable connected with an earlier version of the software. Whereas the latest version of the software will not let you display a map with a USB cable connected.

"Thank you for contacting Garmin International.

I will be happy to help you with this. Unfortunately when your unit is
connected to a computer you will not be able to use the device. The unit
is designed to go into mass storage mode when connected to a computer."

Can I use the USB cable to charge the battery

all usb cables if you have the correct mini usb end for your phone will charge the battery
now for your next question phone batteries are good for about 60 hours if not used or if just for calls may be 8 hours or if downloading data may be 5 hours
In other words it all depends on the use
the good news is that you can buy from most battery supply shops a small booster battery that will recharge the cell battery up to 4 times and it is about the size of a packet of cigarettes and is designed for what you are doing
