Brother MFC-3240C All-In-One InkJet Printer Logo

I have still not found an answer to my request for help. I have installed anew Black ink cartridge and it contiunes to tell me that there is no cartridge in there and to reinstall. I have done that many times, but it does not recognise that I have installed the new Black cartridge. I tried to say No as well as Yes to the qujestion whether or not I installed a new cartridge. What is going on here? Please assist to resolve. I know my colour cartridges are empty, but instead of saying they are empty, it says there is no cartridge.

Try removing the cartridges and make sure there is no obstruction blocking the circuitry and reinstall. also try shutting off the printer and wait 5 minutes then turn it back on to see if it resets itself. then try installing all new full ink cartridges and see what it does. if this all fails then take it to a repair shop for more detailed diagnostics.

Just turning off the power may not clear all (or any) error messages; pull the AC plug overnight.
Also; some cartridges are 'chipped' and refilled or non-Brother (aftermarket) cartridges may not be recognized by the printer.

Ive just filled my ink cartridges but have the following error message when trying to print: (see add details section)

You need to reset the chip in the cartridge that tells the printer when it's low. The part can be found on sites that sell refill kits.

Dell 3100n keeps saying "Change Black Toner" even

Before installing a new toner, put a disposable towel over the ink toner exit, and shake your toner lightly back and forth and up and down. Make sure your toner cartridge is in the open position before replacing it in your printer.

If you are using a refillable ink cartridge, make sure you are resetting the cartridge using the method described by the refillable manufacturer.

If this does not answer your question please request more information before voting on my answer. I will try to find more information about your toner cartridge that will help you futher.

Replacing the ink cartridges B
Your machine is equipped with an ink dot counter. The ink dot counter automatically
monitors the level of ink in each of the 4 cartridges. When the machine detects an ink cartridge is running out of ink, the machine will tell you with a message on the LCD. The LCD will tell you which ink cartridge is low or needs replacing. Be sure to follow the LCD prompts to replace the ink cartridges in the correct order.
Even though the machine tells you that an ink cartridge is empty, there will be a small amount of ink left in the ink cartridge. It is necessary to keep some ink in the ink cartridge to prevent air from drying out and damaging the print head assembly.
a Open the ink cartridge cover. If one or more ink cartridges are empty,
for example Black, the LCD shows Ink Empty Black and Replace Ink.
b Pull the lock release lever down and take out the ink cartridge for the color
shown on the LCD.

C Open the new ink cartridge bag for the color shown on the LCD, and then take
out the ink cartridge.
d Remove the protective yellow cap (1). Each color has its own correct position.
Insert the ink cartridge in the direction of the arrow on the label.
f Lift each lock release lever and push it until it clicks, and then close the ink
cartridge cover.
G If you replaced an ink cartridge, the LCD
may ask you to verify that it was a brand
new one. (For example, Did You Change Blck?) For each
new cartridge you installed, press 1 (Yes) to automatically reset the ink dot
counter for that color. If the ink cartridge you installed is not a brand new one, be
sure to press 2 (No). If you wait until the LCD shows
Note
If the LCD shows No Cartridge after
you install the ink cartridges, check that
the ink cartridges are installed properly.

My black ink will not print. Do I have to have

The larger of the two black cartridges is used for text only printing.

The saller cartridge is used for black in graphic images or pictures.

This saves you color ink . It allows you to put the black ink on the image without making the color inks blend the black ink.

Canon iP4200 thinks it has two yellow ink catridges installed

I have had this happen a couple of times to me with a few cartridges so if you can be sure it's just the black that has changed then I'd contact your retailer and request a replacement under warranty.

The only other way to solve this is by process of elimination using some other cartridges. If you know of someone else with a similar printer model that uses the same cartridges then perhaps ask nicely :)

924 says that black ink cartridge not installed

Hmmm....that sounds to be an issue with the ink cartridges...

You might be using ink cartridges purchased other than Dell or Staples...since these are the two who sell Dell Ink.

If thats not true, then take out both the cartridges in the printer.

Lets isolate the issue

1. Try only Black cartridge on Color slot(right). If you get Install both ink cartridges error, then its an issue with the Black ink cartridges and if you get message that install Black ink cartridge then its an issue with the prrinter.

2. Now install only color cartridge on Black cartridges slot(left), If you get color cartridge missing then its an issue with the Black cartridges which you are using and if you get install both ink cartridges then its an issue with the black slot on printer.

3. If issue found to be with Black ink cartridge then wipe the Nozzles(bottom) of the ink cartridge with lint free cotton cloth from back to front 5-6 times.

4. Also try replacing the ink cartridges purchased only from Dell or from Staples. Purchased from somewhere else or refilled might not work.

5. If issue found to be with printer, then i would suggest you to purchase new printer then.

Hope this fix the issue

MFC-240c ink erros. says i'm low/out after replacing

Your printer detects ink levels with an optical sensor that shines at the clear plastic in the center of the bottom of the cartridge. Once this area is no longer dark it will tell you to replace the ink. Since you installed full cartridges it could be that the sensor is cracking up. Another possibility is that you could have air in the ink lines that run between your cartridges and the print head. When this happens the printer cannot print the color that has air in the lines. You should be able to look in your printer to see the ink lines and see if there is air in the black one.

Printer cartridge

Well, Since the cartrigde has been working it could be just a matter of contact. Try removing the cartridge, and clean the contact surface on the cartridge with a alcoholic based cleaning liquid on a soft cloth. Tis might help solve the problem.
