It sounds as if you are having problems with the AC Power reaching the television. Please verify the cord is firmly seated the tv's ac inlet
Also check the wall outlet (and power strip) by plugging in a lamp into it and see if it flickers when the tv shuts off.
There is a good chance that one or more jugs (CRT)s have leaked coolant down onto the Main bd and Power supply causing severe shorting. At this point ALL of the CRTs must be replaced and the Main bd and or the power supply as well. This is not a inexpensive fix and after the parts are replaced you will need to do a Full Convergence alignment by a very experienced tech which will not be cheap. You might as well purchase a new TV.
The power management and protection circuits have taken over. There is something taking too much current and the protection system has shut the system OFF to prevent further damage ...............if you are familiar with tv service you can check the main fuse that should be close to where the power cord comes in,if you find the fuse blown it needs to be replaced with an exact replacement for AMPS rating and VOLTS rating as well as size,if the fuse is blown black we might have more problems ahead in the circuit and it will blow up again as soon as you plug the tv back in,if it blows again it will need a more involved repair,the problem could be in the primary side of the power supply.......Check horizontal output transistor.............
thats usually related to the flyback and or cp150 capacitor. You can get the replacement flyback number 259296 and the replacement CP150 at the following link with free instructions http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
dear friend your tv has a defective fly-back transformer 99 times out of 100 that is your problem.
get the model number and call your local electronics parts distribuitor to see if they have it, if not call tritronics 1800-638-3328 they probably have it and is not too expensive.less than $25.00.now when you get here is the million dollar question can you do it yourself? if you can't call the repairman and by having the fly-back that will decrese the cost of the repair, is just the labor.
hello tell me did you have it on a surgestrip.!!! it sound's like the fly back transformer went out. !!! and is the set hdtv.!!! if not you might want to get you a new set,!!! a hdtv .!!! well hope this help you"good luck"
RED light is protect circuit = do not disable !
Look for C702 near flyback transformer - might be hidden in
glue = check it = if shorted, replace 102K / 2KV with 3KV =
Sony part # 1-161-754-00 and replace E994 pico fuse.....T.
Get a good fire insurance policy!! The problem you have is the flyback transformer but its going to be hard to get just that so order the sweep board that the transformer sits on. Also your making a very dangerous situation for you or your family. Im praying something doesnt go bad in the middle of the night and start the set on fire. As theres always power to that set. Good luck and dont risk your life or anyone elses to save a few bucks. Get a trained tech to service this set, as a TV set is no place for an experimenter to be. Good Luck
You have bad convergence IC's.. If your not experienced in troubleshooting electronics or soldering, you should have a trained tech take a gander at the set. Its not worth risking life and limb to save a few bucks, Good Luck
