SOURCE: My Gateway 500s monitor is stuck in power save mode

Try tapping the F8 key while booting the computer, you will get the start up menu, choose safe mode, when you log on, go to the display settings, that is right click on the desktop, properties, screen saver, advanced and make sure that hibernation is off, along with turn off disks or whatever , probably see turn off monitor after XX minutes, I make ours 15 minutes (150 computers and servers), I don't let the disks turn off. Choose always on also, not home/office. Try this and see if these settings help.

Stuck in power save mode and can not get it out

I suggest your computer isn't stuck on Power Saver Mode

Your monitor went to Power Saver Mode

Power Saver Mode, Sleep Mode, NO SIGNAL = Same/same,
in this instance.

Why?

Because your computer isn't working.
The two leading causes of desktop computer failure is it is dirty inside, and/or a bad Power Supply.

There are issues with bad capacitors on the motherboard, too.

1) State the computer manufacturer, and model number.
I don't like giving generic one-size-fits-all information.

2) Do you have a multimeter, or access to one?
An economical model can be purchased for as little, as $5 to $12.
Available in a multitude of stores. An auto parts store is but one example.
I have seen them on checkout aisle racks, in major discount stores.

3) Is the computer dirty inside?

4) Is there a working computer that has a Compatible power supply, that you can borrow for a temporary test unit?
Won't hurt the Power Supply, if something is wrong with the computer.

(Unless of course you open it up, and everything is melted together inside the computer! lol!) {DOUBT IT}

Anti-Static Precautions:
Your body carries Static electricity. Static WILL fry out (Short Circuit), the delicate hardware components inside a computer.
Relieve your body of Static BEFORE reaching inside your computer.

Computer ON a table, computer unplugged from power, computer case open;
TOUCH an unpainted area, on the metal frame of the open computer case.
This action will relieve your body of Static.

IF you leave your computer in the middle of working on it, be SURE to Touch the metal frame again, upon your return.

OR,
Try what JLTJJ recommends,

Stuck in power save mode

More likely to have failed power supply/invreter board.

Look for bad caps first (leaking/bulging tops).
Possible lamp assemblies failed also.

Dell Monitor is stuck in power save mode. tried

Hmmm...Stuck in power save. I guess when you push the power button, the monitor says power save, then blanks to power save, no matter if the Computer is on or not.
This means the monitor does not see any signal from the computer. I would suspect the computer first. Try a different monitor (borrow one).
If the size of the monitor picture is too high and the monitor is an older LCD, you may have set the image size too high (1280x1024 will not work with this monitor and it will do this very thing).
A broken or damaged connector cable to the monitor can also cause this. Was the monitor unplugged from the computer just before this problem?

My Dell monitor is stuck in Power Save Mode. Any

The monitor is not receiving signal from the computer. Verify the computer is on and the monitor input is set to the correct mode or auto. Try another monitor if possible.

Go to the control panel, then Hardware and sound, then under Power Options you will see change power settings. Select that and choose what you require.

Stuck in power save mode

Have you have selected the input you are using? You can switch between analog and digital input. The monitor would stay in power save if the input other than the one you are using is selected.
I believe the default input is DVI. Are you using VGA?
In the menu, under advanced, you can select the input.
