My car amplifier wont turn on, it was working 2 nights ago but on the way home it just died and this morn it turned on but only got one bass kick out of it then it turned off. now its not turning on. i checked the remote wires/pos/neg and fuses but everythings connected. it is a alpine 1000w amp

How long will the bass play before the amp kicks into protection mode and how loud are you listening to it? I've noticed with my amps that if they don't have enough air flow they will get hot and kick into protection mode. They will also kick into protection mode if you are running it at more than it can handle. Check your adjustments on both your amp and the head unit. Make sure you are not running more bass than the amp can handle.
as long as your powers and grounds are good(make very sure your ground is ok) then either you have a intermittent short in one of the subs or the amp is getting ready to die lol..
The sony amps are notorious for faulure-the quality is just not there...
Is the amp really hot??? the only other thing you coudl try is to ass a fan or two in it or around it and see if that helps it out..
