Performing a cold reset
1 Print a configuration page to record the previous
printer settings.
2 Turn the printer off.
3 Hold down GO while turning the printer on. Release GO after
COLD RESET appears on the printer control panel display.
COLD RESET (in English) appears on the display for one second
to verify that the key sequence has been recognized, followed by
the power-on self-test message.
Once the power-on self-test is finished, the message
RESTORING FACTORY SETTINGS displays in English.
Hopefully you have a setup button, press this and navigate to preferences, select this and select set language & country/region, hit OK, english should pop up, hit OK again, hit OK for yes, USA should pop up, hit OK, hit OK for yes & this should take you back to set language & country/region menu. From there just keep hitting left arrow back to the display screen and you should be done. This is how it is done for mine, hopefully there is something similar to this for yours. Hope this helps.
If this does not help, the only way to setup English language is to do reset on the printer. By doing the reset, the printer will loose any settings you have already set in the printer ( does not affect any PC/software settings )
Steps for Reset Disconnect the power cord from back of the printer ( while the printer is powered on ) While holding the power button and cancel button front panel, connect the cord back. The printer will go through alignment process. Complete the alignment. *Note : Doing this reset, you will loose any fax logs or settings set on printer
The printer should work fine. If the issue does not resolve, it could be hardware issue.

2.Press the OK button. 3.Press the Left or Right arrows on the Select Photos button until your desired language appears.
NOTE: Even if the printer is currently set to another language, the name English will appear in the English language.

If the incorrect language appears, press the CANCEL button and start the selection process again. 4.When the SELECT COUNTRY/REGION? setting appears on the printer display screen press the OK button to continue. 5.Press the Left or Right arrows on the Menu button until the desired country/region appears on the printer display screen. 6.Press the OK button to select the country/region.
Make sure to follow these instructions carefully. Make sure that your printer is on ready. If you're not sure, you can turn it off and on again. Once ready, press Menu button ONCE, UP Button ONCE, Check Button 4 times. That should set it to English.
The default control panel display language is set for English.
Supported languages are: English, French, German, Italian,
Spanish, Finnish, Danish, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Turkish,
Polish, and Portuguese. Follow these instructions to change the
display language.
1 Switch OFF the printer.
2 Press and hold Select while switching the printer ON until
SELECT LANGUAGE appears in the display.
3 After the power-on self test, LANG=ENGLISH appears. Press
[Value+/-] until the desired language appears in the display.
4 Press [Select] to save your choice. An asterisk (*)appears next
to the language to indicate it is now the default.
5 Press [Go]. The On Line indicator is lit, and display messages
are now in the language you selected.
Not to worry - this is easily fixed. Normally, when you turn on the printer for the first time, you can set the language immediately by using the up and down arrow buttons to select English. If for some reason it didn't get set correctly the first time, here's the way to reset it:
1) Turn off the printer. 2) When it's off, press and hold the POWER button and the UP ARROW button at the same time. 3) When the printer turns on, the language settings will appear again. Use the up and down arrows to choose English, and press MENU to select it.
