Since installing my netgear wireless dualband router WNDR3400, the only way I can turn my tower off is to unplg the power supply. Please help

your pc problems have nothing to do with your new router. Your pc sounds like the mobo is not sending a kill signal to the power supply. You can either re-flash you mobo bios or try a patch for windows. Most likely this is not a fixable problem as the cost to fix it will be as high as a new pc.

This can occur when the wireless adapter in the computer has trouble connecting to the wireless router. It may not get an IP address from the router or the wireless adapter encryption setting didn't get an the encryption authentication from the router.
In this case right click on the wireless adapter on the Task bar and click Repair. This will make the router re-issue an IP address and authenticate the adapter's encryption setting.

I am having trouble connecting my new Macbookpro to the wireless network in my home using a D-Link router (WBR1310). It doesn't seem to like the password which I have on record.

Step 1: Open your web browser and type in the IP address of the router (192.168.0.1 by default).

(NOTE: Some routers have a "Captcha" graphical login option. This option can be disabled in the advanced options of the routers configuration.)

Have a new to me computer. It is asking for a WEP

WEP stands for Wired Equivalent Privacy. Its a secure key that allows you to gain access to a wireless network. If you have a wireless router in your house then you will have to access the router to find out the WEP key. You can do this by attaching the computer to the router by a LAN cable. Looks real similar to a phone cable but the connectors are larger. Once you do that you can acces the router by opening your browser and inserting the ip address of 192.168.1.1 into the adress bar...you can also try 10.0.0.1 if the first will not work. the first is the more popular however. That should give you access to the web interface of the router where you can see the WEP key or even change it. If you are trying to access the internet through your neighbors wireless,,thats illegal and you can get into serious trouble. Just ask them for the WEP key,,they maybe nice and give it to you...but they are the ones paying the bill remember. Hope this helps.

Have d-link DWL-122 wireless usb adapter on vista operating system. trying to setup connection with d-link router on another tower not allowing connection. How do I set up wireless connection thats outside...

Start with the router. On a PC that you have connecting to the router, open a browser and enter http://192.168.0.1/ Login as admin with the password you setup. Use the wireless setup wizard to walk through establishing Internet connection with your internet provider. Set your SSID and security protocol and key. Save settings and wait for router to restart.

From Vista PC with wireless adapter, be sure to check d-link site for latest driver. Right click on network icon in lower right (task area) and select Connect to and view available networks. You should see the SSID save on the router. Click on it and choose connect. You will be prompted for the security key.

Unable to connect to the Internet

Check to see if your wireless card is displayed under “Network Adaptors” in “Device Manager”. You can access the "Device Manager" by going to the 'Control Panel", "Administrative Tools", "Computer Management" and select "Device Manager" located in the left side column. If it is detected and there are no alerts or errors, try uninstalling the wi-fi card, reboot the laptop and reinstall the drivers.
