I forgot dell password, i just reset the password by the following steps,

Step1.Download Smartkey Windows Password Recovery from recoverlostpassword.com and decompress it on that PC. There is a.ISO file. Burn the .ISO file to CD or USB Flash Driver.Step2.Get out the newly created CD or USB Flash Driver and insert it tothe locked computer.Step3. Re-boot the locked computer and then follow the process ofinstructions. Just after a few steps, the old password will be removed.It can recover all Windowsversion.

It appears your model Dell 2400 should have been supplied with the CD's for reinstalling Windows XP, CD will be green or blue in color and the drivers and applications that came with the computer.

If so, back up your files first to an external drive and then put the CD in the CD drive and reboot the computer. It should come up to reinstall XP.

If good to go, you will be prompted to install the second Cd as well as online XP updates.
Software that was installed after you bought the computer also wouyld have to be reinstall as well as restoring your backed up file.

Rememberm all data is lost when you reinstall your operating system, unless these is a choice on install that may ask for destructive, or non-destrutive (keeps files).

Just instal Nero, and when you burn you cd or dvd, you will see all speed for your cd rom.
You must know that speed depend and from type cd.

i think your cd rom is damaged. you can clean the cd rom lanse or you can buy a new cd rom or your cd is damaged.

dude i think ur cd rom's copying system (CdRoM-1426000000.65456000) must be jamed or broken better buy a new one

Open your dell, remove the cd drive backwards, the cd driver has two green rails where it glides on. Those rails you ned to put back if you replace it with onother driver.
