Try connecting to another computer that has itunes. this sounds like it wont solve anything but for some reason i get errors sometimes and as soon as i connect to another computer and then connect to the original i dont get errors from the original computer i was trying to use.

if that doesnt work, hold the power and home button untill your ipod shuts off then turn it back on. this sometimes helps as a sort of reset for your ipod without losing any of your music or etc.
hope this helped!

Itouch conect problem

jus go through the previous posts and you will find the solution...anyways here it is:
  1. Power off the device (Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the the iPod touch to turn off.
  2. Press and hold the Home button while reconnecting the USB cable to iPod. When you reconnect the USB to iPod, the device should then power on.
  3. Continue holding the Home button while iPod starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo.
  4. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message:
  5. Restore and it'll download ~240mb firmware and you're done

Downloading

You need to use itunes as your music management software and ipod management software. You can download the latest itunes version at www.apple.com/itunes.

From here you can purchase items through the itunes music store, or add your own music by adding files from your computer, or putting a cd in your computer and coppying it into itunes so you can put the songs on your ipod.

Hope this helped,

Nathan.

Ipod wont show up on itunes

You can try connecting it to another computer and see if it works there. If it does then it is Windows or your computer or the USB port or driver. You could also uninstall iTunes and reinstall it and then check if it connects. If it shows up then, you can select to restore it on the info screen, it will reset it back to factory and wipe it clean.

Hope this helps

My white ipod nano still shows the "do not disconnect" icon when connected to the usb port

can you uninstall itunes from add or remove programs and after that, install it again. You should get a icon into your desktop, if its not there.

try to find it

my computer -> c: -> Program files -> iTunes -> right click iTunes.exe -> send to -> desktop.

You should now have a icon on your desktop.

Ipod wont show up on itunes

i had the exact same problem with my ipod.

whenever i plugged my ipod in to my computer, it just charged and itunes didnt reconize my ipod.

so i saw the comment on here that said to reset your ipod when it was plugged into your computer with itunes open and it worked!!

(to reset your ipod press the menu button and the center button at the same time and hold them down for a couple of seconds till the screen goes black)

i hope this works for anyone else who has the same problem with thier ipod!!
