I have a trendnet TEW-651BR wireless router for my home. I have setup a newtwork, but every few days it seems to forget that the network exists, and I have to set it up again. This time, however, I don't have the instructions for how to set it up. Could you help me through setting it up this time? I am at the screen where it says "Name of the ISP and Password"

Why my router trendnet tew-731BR doesn't working?

You have to look on the tag at the base or back and find the IP address and admin / password sign in to set it up. Set of numbers like 192.168.0.1 or www.routerlogin.net then when on the routers server you can enter your ISP details to get the router setup.

How to chance password ?

Using a web browser on a PC that is physically connected to the router using a cable. In the browser box where you would normally type in a website. Type in 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1.

Trendnet has a excellent support site for your model.

How do I set up a secure password?

For trendnet

Your Trendnet wireless router lets you broadcast your home network across your entire house, so you can access the Internet in any room. This signal may be powerful enough to extend into neighbors' houses, where they could easily jump on the network if it is unsecured. To protect your network, set up Wireless Encryption Protocol, or WEP, to encrypt data and prevent access unless the user enters the correct password.

Type "http://192.168.0.1" in your Internet browser's address bar and press "Enter." Enter "admin" for the username and leave the password field blank. Click "Log In" to log into your Trendnet wireless router's administrative program. Click "Wireless" from the left pane of the "Basic" tab. Click "WEP" under the "Wireless Security Mode" section at the bottom of the screen. Enter your preferred password for the network. A strong password is made up of a random selection of numbers and letters. Click "Save Settings" at the top of the screen to save your WEP settings.

How do you change the MTU settings on TEW-651BR router

You do _NOT_ want to change this setting:
* choosing a smaller value will "truncate" some data-packets, thus losing information;
* choosing a larger value may increase your "lag" when playing online computer-games.

How to reset the security key of my trendnet tew-430apb 54mbps wireless access point?

To change your router wireless security

  • Quick setup here http://www.trendnet.com/asp/download_manager/inc_downloading.asp?iFile=10856
Connect your PC to the router with a cable to one of the LAN connections - Now you need to Log into the setup of the router - to do that open a web browser, use Internet explorer (some routers setup pages do not work correctly with other browsers) In the browser address bar - Enter IP address http://192.168.1.100 to the address location. When there is a screen needs to enter the User name and Password, both of the default Username and Password is “admin”
Now you can goto the wireless section or secruity section and set the type of encyption to WEP, WPA, WPA-PSK etc and then make up your own password. See Page 12 of the User Manual
On the PC Double click on the wireless connection in the system tray (bottom right hand side of screen) and then connect manually to your wireless signal - you will be asked for the password you set in the router.
Now you are connected.
