Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

Either while it's on or when i try to start my moniter, it will turn on for half a second...make a weird buzz noise, and then turn black. It's not completely black though because i can faintly see what's going on on the screen underneath. But I can't use it at all.

I have the same problem. I think it might be that the computer is not powering on all the way do to overheating. Try replaceing the CPU fan.

My dell dimention 9200 makes a buzzing noise and no show on monit

Sounds like its just 1 of the fans inside the case needs replacing or possibly the fan inside the power supply. These dont cost much and are easy to replace.

When i switch on there is a buzzing noise and

Sounds like an issue in your power supply. Try a good second hand supply or, if you have to purchase a new one, get a new case with a supply and install the guts of your PC into that as Dell power supplies are very expensive (if they are available at all for your model). Swapping everything into a new case is a pain I know but it may be a lot cheaper then a dell supply. You can also have your supply tested by a professional. Don't be tempted to open the supply and fix it your self.. Switchmode supplies are more then happy to provide all the power needed to turn you into a sticky mass on the floor!!! and the surge capacitors can hold a formidable charge for several hours which really stings when it bites you !!!

U heare a noise and the moniter wort turn on

Hi,

Please confirm if the noise is coming from the monitor of from the desktop. If the buzzing noise is coming from the monitor - i suggest to request for a replacement. If not it could be a noise coming from the desktop system fan or from the hard drive.

If you hear like a clicking noise coming from the hard drive you may need to run diagnostics on it to check if the hard drive is failing. check with your computer manufacturer is your system still under warranty for parts replacement.

Keep me posted.

Thanks
