I just saw an ad in the gefen systems newsletter about the ex-tend-it
system for extending your cabling from your Mac to your keyboard, mouse and
monitor. If this is a legit product, it could resolve a long-standing
problem we've had with computer noise in the mix rooms. Has anyone used
it? Are there any data transfer problems with the system? Are there other
products that do the same thing that might be better? I would appreciate
any insight anyone might have:

I found that I could get up to 18 feet of ADB connected cabling to
extend my keyboard with no loss in functionality, but the monitor is
another thing. I can run a six foot heavy duty DB15 connected cable
that has ferrite beads on either end, with no picture degradation. I
recently got a fifteen foot cable made up, but as it has no special
shielding, the image quality suffers to the point where I really can't
use it. The place that made up the cable told me that had I sprung
for the expensive stuff - $10/foot - they would guarantee that I could
get a good picture.
As I'm only running a monochrome monitor on my Mac, I have found that
you can make up a cable using 75 ohm co-ax cable (two strands needed
to connect to four pins on the DB15), but I have not found any co-ax
that I can solder properly, and the whole thing now is working with
the shorter cable strung over some furniture with the closet door
open. I'm going to get through the holidays before doing anything
more...
My two cents...
