Pls make sure that your computer recognizes your Printer, if it doesn't it would never respond to any print command you sent
check to see (if the computer recognizes)
1- go to start then select printer
2- select your desired printer - right click
3- go to properties
4- select print PRINT TEST PAGE
5- check the message on your paper

if it doesnt then you might have installed a wrong driver

SOURCE: printer slow to respond to print command

I had this issue also. Found it to be a firewall issue.

Norton Internet Security, Vista Home Premium.

I ended up having to create a rule to allow inbound TCP from the laptop on port 135. Fixed it.

ps. Be careful setting up such a rule. Several worms make use of exploits on this port. I was very careful only to allow the laptop to loopback to itself.

Hi again,
I sugest that you download a new driver from here: - you have to join them in order to get the driver, but its free. NOTE, you problem might bee that you have installed a Vista32 driver on a Vista64 computer, please be sure to download and install the right one.

1) Remove the label completely from the scanner module by gently pulling it. The scan unlock switch automatically moves FORWARD to the unlock position.
2) NOTE: When you are moving the multi-function printer or do not intend to use it for a long period of time, move the switch BACKWARD to the lock position. To scan or copy a document, the switch must be unlocked.
Please see page 4 of the owners manual for more details. Here's a link in case you've lost yours:

There could be something blocking the scan communication - possibly a firewall. If you have a firewall enabled on your computer, make sure to allow full access to all Lexmark software and printer communication processes in the program rules/permissions for your firewall.

HP PSC 1210 PRINTER switches off when print command is given. Scanner and copier works fine. unintalled and reintalled several time .problem persists

    Shukla,

It seems that the printer drivers are corrupted while the copier and scanner drivers are fine. Disconnect the device from the computer, uninstall the device from Control Panel->Add Remove Programs and reboot.

Once rebooted, reinstall the device drivers from the CD that came with the device. Connect the device and allow Windows to autodetect it and load its drivers. Windows will tell you in the right bottom of the screen "The new hardware is installed and is ready for use".

    Start printing.

    Can't rip to 3200

There are many reasons this could be occurring, first I would try pinging the copier to make sure you have connectivity

Go to run command type cmd then in command prompt type
ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx replace x's with copier IP address.

If you get 4 replys then the copier is online and responding most likely the IP address in the print driver is wrong and needs to be changed.

Ck IP address of print driver by right clicking printer go to properties the select ports tab. Find port and check address if it si incorrect then change to correct and hopefully it will correct your issue.

I can give more help if this does not correct your issue.
