I got my sanyo xacti last 2008, but unfortunately i only used it for a year. got problem with its lens.. it's not closing anymore.. every time i turn it on, it says "system error".. i can't find any technician to repair it. i feel so upset about it because i got this camera when i was working in turkey. now i don't have a job anymore, i can't afford a new one. hope you can help with my problem. thanks

check battery or connect to the mains and remember power buttons are fragile and unfortunately this is the button we use quiet often or failure take it in for check up

Apparently you can take the LCD apart, look at the part number and order it online somewhere.

Most manufactures warranty last for a year or more. In certain situations they will repair or replace it. Check the Xacti website for detailed info on your particular product.

Strange, mine lasts a very very very long time, but in a standby state (power on, just close the lcd lid). Have you tried to just keep it in the standby state? I will never turn it off unless I need to, like to change sd cards, because it is super quick to capture video and it does not kill the battery.
I have 2 of these dual cameras and John is quite right, the Sanyo HD2000 is not a "normal" camera, its quite abnormally exceptional and way ahead of its time! Having a f1.8 lens, 1/2.5" cmos, 1080p @ 60 FRAMES/second, really makes it not "Normal". You will need a better computer to process the crazy 1080p/60fps images.

Do a system reset. Also, make sure the battery is fully charged. Pull the battery out then replace after 30 seconds.

My Sanyo Xacti VPC 60 has problem in battery. After taking 2 -4 pics the camera is OFF.
Right from the day of purchase we are facing this problem since last 1 Year.
3 Years warranty is of no use & Sanyo service is horrible i.e still for the last one month its lying with them with no solution.

MY DIGI CAM DID NOT WORK..

I connected my Sanyo VPC - 603 digital camera to an AC/DC adaptor due to battery malfunctions. After about 5 seconds, i heard a spark sound and the camera went off. What might have gone wrong? How can it be repaired?
