How to take a good picture in bad lightning

You can find the manual here. They have some suggestions for shooting in low light:
  • Set scene to "NATURAL LIGHT" Capture natural light indoors, under low light, or where the fl ash can not be used.
  • or set Scene t "PARTY" Capture indoor background lighting under low-light conditions.
Use a tripod if available, or brace the camera against a wall, table, or other fixed object when taking pictures to reduce blurriness.
If you don't have an object to brace the camera against, use these techniques to reduce camera shake. Press the camera button instead of jabbing at it.
Search the internet for "low light photography" for more tips. The PARTY and NATURAL LIGHT settings on your camera should boost the ISO on your camera.
Do some test shots before hand in low light situations to see what works best.

There is something wrong with my flash screen. It's Black. Everytime I try to take pictures on My Finepix z fujifil blue digital camera the screen goes black, and when I go to see what I took a picture...

Flash screen? What? You mean even in pictures with flash disabled (and the flash does drag down the electronics in the thing; make a replacement using an LED lamp and circuit if you have a chance) it takes no picture and leaves you with a black LCD? Are you indeed using a good battery (they go bad gradually (depending on the case on how many times you fire the flash!)) New battery first!

The camera was working fine. I imported the pictures to Picassa succesfully and turned the camera off. I then went to take new pictures and all I get is a black LCD screen and when I load into Picassa the...

The CCD is bad or the Iris is shut stuck. If it's the Iris just stuck, it might just have moisture - leave the camera in a dry place for a day. If it's the CCD - pretty much "kiss-it-good-bye". To replace the CCD is expensive - get a new camera.

K100D flash doesn´t work

My camera with the dodgy flash is holidaying in Japan as they sent it to be fixed - not sure how old your camera is but I am trying to see if this is an issue that occurs with the camera model.... given that there are only two of us to date I am thinking that we may have just struck the jackpot :(

Red eye

This camera is bad for red eye. It's just a problem that happens when the flash is so close to the lens. Red eye occurs when the flash illuminates the subject's retina.

The only solution, really, is to add an external flash that's farther away from the camera lens, which is not an option with this camera. The other, is to get better at taking photos without flash. Higher end cameras have better ways to deal with the red-eye, but these usually involve preflashes that close the subjects pupils (by blinding them with a preflash) before the actual exposure is taken. The Sony DSC-U30 has it as a feature, but it doesn't work very well, I've found. When it does work, it's a nice compromise as it gets rid of the red eye, but it also introduces a delay between pressing the exposure button and the actual taking of the photo.

Unless the light is very dim, I don't use flash with this camera.

After you've taken the photo and have downloaded it, there are ways to edit the red eye out that can be pretty effective.

The colour on the EVF and LCD is pretty pink and nearly red

Yes it is. I believe Panasonic knows that the built in flash casts a very blue tint so they set the flash WB to very red to compensate. Therefore before the flash is triggered as when you watch the LCD. Some threads here even suggested adjust the WB further 2 knots to the red manually (press " up" a few times on the 4-way button to have better skin tone. Try it. The setting stays even when you turn off the camera.
