Issues with the big screen

We have a rear projection big screen TV and the proublem started mild. the TV jittered a little and then would go away but only did that if the tv was on for a while. then it started jittering worse and then all the time.now it jitters and it has double vision. we are not sure how sirius the issue is if we can fix it ourselves or if the tv is junk. we would like to keep it but we do not plane on paying some one to fix it. Any advice

This is essentially a convergence problem and will continue to get worse. If you can solder, try resoldering the pins on the convergence ICs. If that fails to resolve the problem, replace the ICs. These are large black ICs attached to a heatsink and should be marked STKxxx.

Keep us posted on your progress.

Has 2 issues. it takes a while to turn on and every once in a while you will have green lines running up and down the screen. if you wiggle the tv a little the lines go away.

As far as it taking a while to turn on that can be your lamp getting close to the end of its life span.Or it can be the ballast starting to malfunction-As far as those green lines those sound like your light engine

What causes the image on the screen to jitter

Sounds like bad convergence ICs. They are complicated to replace but a good tech should be able to do it for about $100. Let me know how this works out.

Screen shakes / jumps vertically on my Sony KP-51HW40

The jitter is called a vertical sync problem. The problem is on the "A" board. It can be replaced or rebuilt but will be quite expensive to service.

Good Day, sdkhanmd; Replace C2P05 100 UFD 16 VOLT off pin 3 IC2P01 and IC2P01 part #270P466020 (9 volt regulator). Both are on the signal PCB. Also, check other caps in area for leakage. Hope this was helpful, this common for this model. Good Luck, big IRISH.

JVC TV TROUBLE

If you guys do not have hand soldering skills or know how to use a multimeter, I would suggest to replace the whole assembly.
If you know how to solder you can just replace 2 ICs that are mounted on the big black heatsinks and possibly 1 or more resistors.
Click here to find the entire assembly for your TV.
The link provided is for parts for the AV-56WP74 model ONLY. For the 65 inches; you should contact the vendor and provide the correct model number.
Good Luck.

Chassis will need to be pulled by a skilled technician. Some specific area hand-soldering is needed and the STK convergence IC's need changing w/OEM or better quality parts. You have a good set worthy of repair.
