Take the SIM card out clean it and reinsert.Test the SIM on another handphone to see if its working fine. Worst scenario your SIM may be old type and cannot work with the iphone. In that case you will need assistance from the service provider. If you can get a SIM from any one else which works on the iphone that will confirm the status of your SIM in question.Hope that helps
