Alcohol can do it, if you have time to wait. If you don't want to wait, put about a tablespoon of Dawn dish soap in a small amount of gasoline, about a quart, and mix well. Pour in tank. If you have ice in the fuel system you'll have to thaw it, but the dish soap will pick it up once it thaws and the motor is running. You may have trouble with a plugged fuel filter or two and you may not, depends on how much dirt the dish soap picks up.

It's all about making oil and water mix, like when you're washing dishes.

Either by an electric fuel transfer pump and get it out that way or you can disconnect the fuel filter and pump it out that way into a gas can

2006 Nissan Murano fuel tank drain without removing the tank

If you have water in the tank you will also have corrosion or rust.
Drop the tank and dispose of the contents in an approved mannor; NOT down a drain!! Check for any rust damage and if not too severe reuse the tank.
Clear the 'wet fuel' from the system by disconnecting all of the feed pipes and hope the pump has not been damaged by lack of lubrication from the water.
Remove the injector feed pipes and allow to drain.
Reassemble all but the injector feeds to allow for bleeding the system, refil with fuel, cycle the ignition key to fill the system with fuel and when fuel sprays from the injector feed, reconnect the injector and attempt to start the engine.
Good luck.

I might have sugar or water in gas.

This is a Saturn ion i do not think there is and i would not even start this car if you even think there may be sugar in the tank,Water can cause a little damage but not really as long as there is gas mixed but still do not run engine. sugar is bad!!. this will cause lots of damage. converter, injectors and cylinder wall damage.
You will need to drop tank and drain it out and then flush it out good. then drain fuel lines and replace the fuel filter. after you are done i would put in a bottle of dry gas and a fuel injector cleaner additive in the tank.
Note ' make sure to flush tank good, When fuel lines are removed the fuel in lines should drain back out of lines. the only problem is what is in the fuel rail and injectors, this is why i said to add injector cleaner and dry gas additive to help if there is any small amount of water left in tank. hope this helps ,good luck.

We just had a major storm i think maybe moister got in gas tank i was wondering if a can of dry gas would work

they have additives that remove water from fuel,, however that depends on how much water your talking about, if your sure this is the problem,, I'd drain the tank, and start new if you suspect a bunch of water got in,, you might also check the distributor cap for moisture in there, that causes missing and bad running also

I ran out of gas and i put gas in it and now it wont start i thought it might have froze but i have it in garage with heater now it starts but i have 2 pedal it 2 keep it running then it dies and wont...

If it ran out of gas, there are two possible easy fixes. One is that the fuel filter is plugged up by junk from the bottom of the tank. The other is that water floats on top of gas and now your lines are a mix of fuel and water. I would change the filter and put water remover in the tank. Make sure there is a least 10 gallons of fresh fuel in the truck. If neither of these work, the pump may have been damaged as it uses the fuel to keep it cool.

Would the gas cap being completely covered with ice after recent storm cause fuel flow problems. Turned and turned this am would't fire. this pm started fine, then noticed problem with gas cap when I went...

Yes in a cars fuel system ice can certainly cause problems. If the tank can not vent properly and ends up drawing a better vacuum than the fuel pump is capable of over coming due to fuel useage and the resulting vacuum created due to the drop in fuel level, then your car will just stop running due to fuel starvation. If there is a venting problem you would hear the air passing into your tank as your removed the cap. If anything it should be slightly pressurized vs having a vacuum in it.

What is the quckest way to flush the fuel system on a 200 Lincoln LS?

I hate to say it, but if you have a lot of water or anthing else in the gas tank, I think you will have to drop the tank. With just a little water, you can try gasline antifreeze additives, because they will mix with both, and allow the water to get dissolved. But if there is too much, you risk corrosion. And if you have solids or some other comtaminant, they will never dissolve. They will all collect in the lowest spot, and that is at the bottom of the tank. In the old days, that is where they put the drain, for just that reason. If there is access through the trunk, you could try to see if you can remove the gas gauge sending unit, and look down through the hole. If you can get a siphon pump down there, you may be able to clean it out without dropping the trank. As far as the rest of the system, any component clogged will have to be replaced, but the rest will purge through because the lines constantly recirculate more fuel then used by the engine, just to keep the fuel cool.

Water in your gas

Hi. You are correct, water in the tank can produce this type of interruption in normal operations. Water will choke the system and cause stalls and rust within the lines as well. You can purchase an fuel additive that can remove this water from the tank. Its available at your local auto parts store. I recommend (TECHTRON GAS TREATMENT). It will clean the lines and remove the water. Now, if you continue to experience this hesitation and stalling, you may have an issue with other components of the fuel system. Theses additional problems can be a faulty fuel pump or a clogged filter. I would check these areas if the stalling continues after using the fuel additive.

Please rate and god bless.
