Hi..How can i block a contact from my yahoo messenger?

In company office? Your network might block you for using Yahoo! Messenger by blocking its port.

If you are blocked, you can use web messenger instead. e.g. http://karoolark.com/ web Yahoo! messenger

unfortunately you can't do that unless you know their account and manually doing it. Instead, I suggest you to create a new account. That way you can manage who to add and not add the person on your yahoo list. may be there is some problem with your messenger. may be a firewall is blocking it from working properly.go download a latest version of yahoo messenger and reinstall it. after that check whether it works fine. if it dont check i9f it is blocked by firewall.

If you have an alternate email contact have yahoo send you the forgotten password/user name to that email account and see if maybe that will fix it. I had to go through that when I got my divorce.

You can block a person's message from getting to you permanently.
First copy the person's email id and Delete the person from your yahoo list

1. Click the "Messenger" menu in Yahoo! Messenger and select "Preferences."

2. Click the "Ignore List" category.

3. Select the option labeled "Ignore only the people below."

4. Click the "Add" button.

5. Enter the Yahoo ID of the contact you want to ignore.

6. Click the "Ignore" button.

7. Click "OK" at the bottom of the window.

This should permanently block the person from sending you message from the ID you added

It's impossible to manage/change the contact lists of other accounts than your own. What you can do is BLOCK whoever you wish who won't be able to contact you or see you when you're online.

From your main Yahoo! Messenger window, click on Messenger on the menu and choose Contact Details. You can change there your name or nickname and other information.

I have used Zak's nobuddy before - it has been updated to work with yahoo's newest protocols.

Test: (A) I have 2 yahoo ID's - I added each to the other:
(B) I use Yahoo Messenger version 9.0.0.2162
(C) I was invisible mode at all times on each ID

1 I then got this zak nobuddy to remove one from the other:
2 It worked (although it left no message - I was simply gone).
3 I then performed the normal add request - this too worked fine and I was added again as soon as ID2 accepted.

You say it's blocked from your contact list:
I would check from messengers menu bar
messenger/ preferences/ ignore list and see if your friends ID is in there.

use the complete yahoo address along with @yahoo.com or @yahoo.ca to add contacts in Yahoo messenger.
Ensure that the contact is not in the blocked liks. Check the Yahoo Prefrences from the top menu.
