Start by disconnecting the printer from the computer and turning it off. Wait a few minutes before reconnecting it. While waiting, open your pinter settings and insure you have nothing waiting to be printed from you computer. Once this is verified, restart your computer, then reconnect the printer. Most likely the print que is simply "stuck" on the one file.

I changed fuser unit after which the printer began to show scanner error 22 each time i on it. What is the possible solution?

Hello zeksvc,
The "Printer has an internal Hardware problem!"
To try to fix the 'error', do the following:
Turn-off the "Power" to the Printer.
Next, "Shut-down the computer.
"Unplug the Printer {only} from the 'Wall Outlet'.
"Disconnect the [Cables from the Printer to the Computer]."
Now, 'reconnect the cables'.
*Note: If you are using a "Surge Protector" with the Printer?
Plug the Printer 'directly' into the 'Wall Outlet'.
Turn-on the Computer first!
Next, turn-on the Printer.
"I hope this fix the 'error' problem."
*Note: For more information about your "Printer."
I've given you a "Link" to download a {Service Manual}.
There may be useful infomation to guide you in the future!

Probably your computer has more than one network cards.
I had same problem on my main PC and I found it is not the printer itself after my investigation.
Probably the driver issue. It looks the printer driver can not get the printer status correctly if the computer has multiple network card installed.
I had VMWare installed, then VMWare installed 2 virtual network cards.
Once I uninstall VMWare, the offlince issue is gone.
Believe it or not, I'm also software engineer for other printer company so I could guess what the problem might be.
Good luck,

My computer reboot everytime I print on Brother MFC8440

Hello uday,

All brother laser machines have a huge spike in power usage when they power up, about 15 amps for a second or two; this is normal.

It is strongly recommended not to use a UPS for Laser printers.

The reason the computer shuts down is because the UPS only allows for a certain amount of electricity to go through and since the printer needs so much, the UPS cuts power to the computer.

Computer and printer not talking through router

Ensure that the computers and printer are set to "obtain ip address automatically" If they are, try shutting down the router and all four devices, the restart each one starting with the router, and make sure the router is completely up before starting the computers. If that doesnt work, the network connection to the printer could have blown when the router did.

Connection to my Computer with Printer

Hello fosstone
Are you running windows Vista? Was the printer working at one time? If using Vista try this. Open Control panel, open system. Click on hardware tab, click device manager button. Scroll down till you see the yellow ! point. Right click on it once & choose update driver (a left click). A pop-up window will open. Choose No not at this time, click next. Click Install from a list or specific location. Click the Browse button. Scroll to your C:\ drive & click on it. Scroll down to the folder Window\system32 & click on it once. Click OK. With any luck windows Vista will re-find your USB & your printer.
Lastly, Microsoft may have created a fix in Vista update (KB940199). So run Windows Update just to be sure.
Please drop by & let me know if this helped.
Good luck fosstone!
Have a good day.
