Question about Compaq Presario R3000 Notebook
My Compaq Presario R3000 monitor has gone so dark that I cannot see it. It hasn't completely gone out, the images are there, but too dark to see. Works just fine attached to an external monitor.
When I first turn it on, or walk away from it for awhile, the screen is good for almost 30 seconds, then it goes dim. If I lower the lid, it flashes briefly, then goes dark again. During bootup, it flashes briefly, then goes dark again. It's almost as if there is something overheating that's telling the screen to go dim -- or it thinks its overheating. Any ideas?
Does the fan work ok? and do you have a laptop holder for it or you just have it on a desk ....get a laptop holder for it if you do not have one and as for the rest goto the power mangment area on the computer and see if the monitor might be on stand by after a few min ...
